Douglas Drenk is by far the most incompetent and abrasive person I have ever met. He refuses to provide clarification for clients and goes on rants about how they don't understand law and suggested the client "take some paralegal classes at college of dupage" rather than explaining as an attorney should. He is very big on both micro and macroaggressions and is an absolute cheat; trying to charge clients for the hours that they personally spent getting their paperwork together when he refused to do so. My friend almost went to prison in contempt of court, not because he did not provide the info, but because Doug never filed the information. When allowed a continuance he failed to show to court and is now refusing to send the legal file to the new lawyer claiming "there is no file" regardless of showing to court with the client multiple times and working with him for nearly 2 years. You'll save $ in the long run going to a lawyer who will get things done vs this man who will string you along for years accomplishing virtually nothing.

We hired Doug Drenk based on a recommendation from a friend. They couldn't have been more wrong. He's unprofessional, rude, doesn't pay attention to detail, among many other issues. I should've known from the first meeting when he showed up in a tank top and jeans that this was going to set the standard, but we trusted our friend. After multiple times of not listening to our concerns or issues, and going against what we wanted in court, we finally called him out for it and he quit on us. Thousands lost, not to mention the case. And this would've been an easy case to win given the circumstances. Any green attorney would've had thier first case won with ease. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, like I wish we did.

This guy is a liar and completely incompetent. Warning: do not use this guy he is a cheat and no good. He doesn’t ever show up, he’s always late and makes the most ridiculous excuses. He is not respected by his peers and not one judge thinks highly of him. He also takes personal calls all the time when in conference with his clients and never gives his undivided attention as he should. This guy should not have a law license! Horrible attorney who never wins a case!!

This guy is a charlatan, cheat, and con artist!!!! Don’t give him a dollar!! If you believe Anything he says, it’s your own fault when he takes your money, fails to file in court, and loses your case. RUN AWAY from this cheat and don’t look back. He’s AAWFUL and should be disbarred if there’s any justice in this world.

Screwed me for over for $1800 went to court and lost and this guy never even filed his appearance with the court but charged me for it! another case he just took the money contacted the other atty who he was friends with and never pursued the case

Doug is not in this profession to help people he is in it to help himself! He is never prepared, you will find yourself repeating the specifics of your case over and over to him, he is not respected by ANY sitting Judges and he is shady with money. Doug never ever prepares statements of the work he has done and always makes everything about him. BEWARE! If you use this attorney, you will lose your case and be very sorry. Look him up online, he has tax liens because he doesnt pay his taxes, its public record!! He asks you to write checks to cash and to other people!! This guy is a danger to the legal profession!

I can see where some personalities want an attorney that strokes their ego and tells them everything is going to work out and your going to get everything you want but I'm one who wants someone that's going to give it to me straight not get blindsided in court because my lawyer said everything would be ok. In the 19 years I've used his services he's represented me in lawsuits and won, custody disputes and won plus he's gotten quite a few of my friends out of trouble with various cases..... criminal, possession, divorce, visitation and more. For those reviews that made comments about his appearance in court I just have to laugh, have you ever went to court with him or seen him in court? Doug has been around those courtrooms so long he could show up in Pjs and bunny slippers and it would not matter everyone knows him and respects him. Maybe some of those new lawyers need to show up in stuffy suits but not that guy he's already earned his respect from everyone in those rooms.

I hired Attorney Drenk to represent me in a post-divorce court situation. He is great! This was the first time, after a horrible divorce, that I was not afraid to face my ex-husband in court. He is confident, professional, gets along great with the Judges, and gave me complete confidence in myself. I'd recommend him to anybody going through a divorce or any type of lawsuit. Note: He gives a free consultation (not all attorneys do), is completely honest in what he can and cannot help you achieve, and has great referrals to other attorneys if there is a better fit for your case.

I was a client of this attorney. He misses court dates and appearances and you are later asked to pay associated legal fees for that. He does not recall the important details of the case. He does not present the important evidence to the judge the other side will come prepared and judge will hear everything on their side but not much of yours. He lacks etiquette in dealing with clients he does everything his way and refuses to hear client insute; repeatedly tells you you know nothing about the law. If you ask him to do anything with your case that he is not in agreement with he will threaten to withdraw at critical moments of the case. Overall, I felt I would have had a much better outcome had I self represented rather than have him represent me.

Doug is a great attorney and knows the law. If I had to have anyone defending me in court, I would want him. He may be rough but that's because he calls it like he sees it and doesn't take crap from anyone. He's ex-military and it shows. He's no non-sense and will rip out your fingernails in court if you think you can put one over on him

Mr. Drenk would like to pretend that he's your buddy to distract from the fact that he's incredibly unprepared. Mr. Drenk is also incredibly unprofessional. He missed court and didn't have the courtesy to call me, another day he showed up to court in jeans, and he made rude and unnecessary comments to my ex-wife and her lawyer. I had to apologize for his behavior, I was absolutely disgusted.
