The best way to describe her is Shakespeare's character of ''Shylock'' in The Merchant of Venice. In 2024, I hired her for a DCFS hearing before an administrative judge and after collecting my hard earned money, she changed completely! As an Attorney she was supposed to carry out interviews prior to the hearing to help give my case a chance, but she didn't. During the hearing I was the one that brought one person to support me. My advice to anyone, DO NOT HIRE her, she will do TERRIBLE JOB!!!!

Alex Rothenberg served as the court-appointed GAL (Guardian ad Litem) in my case, and my experience with her was deeply troubling. Despite initially appearing engaged by asking questions and taking notes, she failed to address any of my concerns, displayed a clear bias toward my ex-wife, and accepted her statements as truth without requiring any supporting evidence.
Alex prematurely removed herself from the case, leaving critical issues unresolved and contributing to an outcome where my daughter has been denied fair and equal time with both parents. Her actions violated several key statutes and guidelines that GALs are required to follow in Illinois, including:
750 ILCS 5/506(a)(2): GALs must conduct an independent investigation, including interviews and a review of relevant documents, and provide an objective recommendation to the court. Alex failed to conduct a thorough investigation or verify evidence, instead relying on unchecked statements from my ex-wife.
Best Interest of the Child Standard (750 ILCS 5/602.7): GALs are required to prioritize the child’s well-being and ensure meaningful relationships with both parents unless there is clear evidence to the contrary. Alex’s biased and incomplete recommendations directly harmed my daughter’s ability to have a fair and balanced relationship with both parents.
Ethical Obligations of Attorneys and GALs: GALs are required to avoid personal bias, remain neutral, and act in a professional manner that serves the child’s best interests. Alex’s personal bias against me was evident and unprofessional, resulting in recommendations that prioritized her own prejudice over the needs of a 5-year-old child.
To make matters worse, Alex’s conduct was part of a broader pattern within her firm. Other members of her firm displayed similarly unethical behavior, including inflated billing practices, misrepresentations to the court, and a general failure to uphold professional standards.
Alex’s unprofessional and unethical behavior, combined with her failure to follow required statutes, caused irreparable harm to my daughter’s well-being. Her actions were not only a disservice to the court but also a direct violation of the trust placed in her to act in the best interests of the child.
Avoid Alex Rothenberg and her entire firm. Their lack of professionalism, integrity, and accountability makes them unfit for any legal matter, particularly those involving children.

I had the pleasure of working with Attorney Kevin McSwain and Paralegal Nicole Tkachuk during my real estate closing, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the very beginning, they demonstrated exceptional communication skills, ensuring that I was informed and comfortable throughout the entire process as a first time homebuyer.

Naseem - sweet, kind and loving. She is to the point and will tell the truth. Works hard and understands what you are dealing with. Sometimes cases are hard, overwhelming and stressful but she will help you and explain everything. Sometimes the case may not goes as planned but if you want someone that will fight tooth and nail for you I would ask for Naseem.

I worked with Lisa Giese for my post-divorce alimony settlement and recommend her and the firm highly. My divorce was contemptuous and my previous attorneys acutally said they would not take on the case anymore due to an ex-spouse who contiued to file frivolous court motions. Lisa did not turn me away and she is TOUGH. She fought for me when no one else would and I cannot tell you how much that means. She is smart, quick on her feet and knows family law. Lisa is honest and does not try to bill for the sake of biling. We cut our losses when necessary and ultimately came out way ahead. I will not use anyone but Lisa. In fact, she is doing my pre-nuputial agreement for my wedding.

Dont know why they have good reviews.Horrible experience with these attorneys. And yes i say attorneys because i delt with 4 different attorneys. Always a new attorney when court day came none of which new my case properly. I had a hearing for parenting allocation which attorney Jane was suppose to show up in person not “zoom” she last minute put someone up on zoom her name is Nassem, the judge even called them out on it for not showing in person. They gave me another attorney named mathew he did not know my case at all. It was if he skimmed through my case the morning of court. These attorneys never spoke out for me in court they always got walked all over in court. When i spoke to mathew about speaking up in court if they didnt he told me if you speak up judge will be upset with you and then proceed to tell me he would speak out for what i wanted but never did, instead pettioners attorney asked for continuance and my attorney never said anything, which I understand somtimes continuances are needed but this happened almost every court date.i was in court for 16 months with these attorneys never did anything and literally nevr said one word in court for me they were only good at charging me and wheni mean charge me i mean charge me i spent over 15k thousand dollars maybe closer to 20k for ntohing to be accomplished. when i speak to other attorneys about this they tell me i got scammed. they never told other parties attorneys that i was a seasonal union worker so they kept me as if i was a full time worker. Whcih my pay never was fixed in court i guess they where nevr turning in accurate information to other parties attorney. They never once told me about my rights as a dad or to help me get more parenting time with my kids so i settled for the minimum even then they still didnt help me. i ended up with 52 over nights and 104 days which i still have to pay support for. I gave up on these attorneys so i stopped paying them. I eneded up representing my self when they dropped me. After they droped me my case was finished the next court date was as if they were trying to juice me for money prolonging my case. I got referred to this firm through my union which my union has now also dropped as a partner dont know why but must be from complaints im assuming. Reponse time from them was always days. Sometimes they would not call you back. Dont waste you time with this firm, if i had the money(which i dont because they bleed me dry) i would take them to court.
