I have worked with this firm over the years on a variety of situations. I have worked with many in the firm and they have always been professional, knowledgeable and have been prompt in their response to my questions and concerns. I have and will continue to recommend them to family, friends and business associates.

Beyond pleased with the service and representation that I received from HRM. Specifically, attorney Kristy Horwath made what could have been a difficult process seamless. She was there every step of the way, represented me well, and led negotiations with compassion. Highly recommend her to anyone seeking high quality legal representation.

Ashley from Hollingsworth Roberts Means was a beacon of hope to my father at a time when our options seemed limited and the likelihood of a satisfactory resolution seemed impossible. Not only was she able to defend my father from an unjust citation, her calm and empathetic demeanor gave emotional succor to myself and father.
Ashley was tenacious and proactive in her approach and showed excellent knowledge of the laws and regulations in Indiana. Her tireless work ethic and approach got the prosecutor to dismiss the case entirely.
We are forever grateful for her service and I hereby recommend Ashley and Hollingsworth Roberts Means without reservation.

This firm is exceptionally experienced and well run. My attorney, Ashley Roncevic was fantastic and incredibly thorough. At every turn, she advised me while maintaining the most professional demeanor, and always letting me know, worst case, and best case scenarios. I elected to consistently take her advice based on the firm's experience and it was well worth it. I avoided financial ruin and false conspiracy theories as she challenged and overcame all of the misleading and manufactured information presented to the judge. I am eternally grateful and would recommend her to anyone.

DO NOT USE this firm for divorce, William Means screwed up my case, was totally unprepared and did not defend my case correctly, the other side was awarded WAY more than 50% of the assets, spousal maintenance and child support that was not even in compliance with Indiana divorce laws. After switching lawyers, an appeal and an incredibly difficult, drawn out and extremely expensive divorce that is STILL going on over 3 years in the courts our options are limited to fix the mess he caused. His lack of effort, knowledge and disregard for my case and situation has now cost me over 55,000 in legal fees and destroyed my life as far as pensions, the marital estate and visitation with my kids.

We worked with this firm when it was “Hollingsworth and Zivitz”. When the partners had a dispute that couldn’t be resolved, they took legal action against one another and split up. If you read the good reviews, they usually refer to a specific attorney by name. If our attorney were still with this firm, we’d be giving 5 stars, because she’s outstanding. You’ll find that the attorneys mentioned In the positive reviews are no longer with the firm. The attorney we were working with left the firm to start her own—we followed. If all you’re looking for is a good recommendation, start with Erin Connell. She’s truly amazing and you’ll feel how much she truly cares. When we informed H&Z that we would continue working with Erin, they proceeded to invoice us with fees for our attorney’s time and several ridiculous charges. I argued that if we pay for our attorney’s time, that money should go to her, which they confirmed it would not. They also tacked on several charges for people we had never heard of or met during the entire nine months we were with them. They argued that the names were in the contract we initially signed. EVERYONE was listed on that contract. All partners, associates, etc. We’ve come to find out that adding extra fees and invoicing for work that was never actually done is common practice for the Hollingsworth team when clients choose to leave their firm for other representation. If you’re having any hesitations about this firm, feel free to reach out to me for details. I’d be happy to show you what type of people you’re dealing with and how you would be treated as one of their clients. To save time and the headache of having to relive the pains of dealing with this law firm, here’s a copy of the email I had to send to them.
Dear H,
After speaking with you, my mom has decided that she would much rather pay the balance to a collections agency than give a dime directly to the firm. There aren’t a lot of reviews for law firms and attorneys in general. We were referred to Erin Connell, not Hollingsworth and Zivitz. Despite being told not to go to a big law firm, we chose to work with Erin because my mom felt comfortable with her right away. Had we not gotten the referral from a close friend that we trust, we would have relied on reviews to find an attorney. The very few reviews you have should be enough to deter potential clients. It shocks me that you would treat anyone this way, especially when you need the good publicity after having your firm fall apart. I don’t like that most people post reviews after bad experiences and not enough for good ones. I’m going to make an exception in this case, because choosing the right attorney is a big decision. At a time when you should be treating anyone and everyone with as much respect and good customer service as possible, you—or K, as you said it was her decision— have decided that you would rather turn the invoice over to collections instead of accepting the payment that was more than fair. At least the collections agent is earning the money. If your firm had made any effort to reach out in a kind manner and offer a consultation with a new attorney to take over my mom’s case, you might have kept us as a client. Your email following Erin’s departure was cold and distasteful. I would suggest changing the way you treat people as a firm, and as individuals. Whether you were acting on behalf of K and her intentions, or just being yourself, your attitude was offensive. You’d be shocked at how far you can get with some kindness and sympathy.
Sincerely,
Carol Y.

Horrible experience with this law firm. Signed with an attorney from this firm that after a few months working on my case had to be removed to DUI issues. Then I was handed an attorney Ashley who sat back and allowed the other attorney to talk for 3 hours on the same point without objecting once. I spent $18,000 and got nowhere. Refused to re up my retainer until they could explain the game plan, and explain my ridiculous charges on my bill, they refused and then said I owe them more money because I questioned my bill. Stay away from this firm. They over promise and under deliver and price gauge. Even the judge made a comment about the cost associated with the attorney when brought up during my case.

I first want to publicly apologize to my team at Hollingsworth & Zivitz. I didn’t make my case easy for Erin Connell, Steve and Kristy. On top of that, I was down eight abrasive at times.
Yet, through it all, they remained kind, understanding, professional and, above all, compassionate.
Mine was an extremely difficult case with many tintacles that were difficult to see clearly. My team was able to set it all out, neatly packaged in a way that made it more clear than even I recognized it prior to initiating my petition for full physical custody of my son.
I am a single man, never married who barely knew the mother. So, Erin was running uphill from the start.
At the end of it all, Erin was able to show the magistrate what she knew to be true. My son was and “NOW IS” better off with his father.
From the bottom of mine and my sons heart, we thank you, Steve, Kristy and Erin Connell.
With Love & sincerity
Lawrence and Jonas Coffee
