Worst experience I've ever had on a first appointment with a law firm. They took $450 just to do an intake, had a rookie attorney show up who didn't bother to look at any of the ridiculous amount of paperwork and evidence they expected us to prepare right away and then offered zero help. They actually forgot about us. After 2 weeks from the intake, we called and they were extremely rude. I guess they like to run this scam instead of doing actual work. If Indiana wasn't full of corruption already, I would have reported them to the Bar.

Called and twice and was sent to paralegals neither of them answered their phones or returned my calls. I suspect many of the 5 star reviews are paid to place them.

This place is amazing! when I first got into contact with Nicole I was super scared and nervous about this process and how my life was going to end up! Nicole was super welcoming and comforting from the start! I really appreciated the fact that she kept everything super professional and super real! I told her from the beginning I didn’t want her to sell me a dream and she did not. She explain the process and how everything would work perfectly and that made me feel super good! Her paralegal Tonya Brock was honestly the best part. She went above and beyond to help Nicole and myself with the case! She was always available when I called and was always there to respond to my emails! She guided me and helped me when I felt nervous and scared! Seriously I recommend both of these woman to anyone needing help! They are the best team and I will always grateful to them! Thank you!!

I have worked with Brian Zoeller for 8 years on my family law case. He was the only attorney out of the several I initially had recommended to me that actually listened to what I had to say and offered that there was any chance to have my child grow up with me as an unmarried father. I was recently awarded full custody of my child and my child attends school and primarily lives with me. Brian was always the most prepared attorney in the courtroom and everywhere else thru three different sets of opposing counsel. While I would like to say definitively, I will no longer be going to court I am fairly certain that I will be a client for another several years until my child is an adult. There is no other attorney, I would want in my corner in the State of Indiana than Brian. Brian set realistic expectations and his advice was spot on. I consider Brian to be a friend and more than my attorney. I know he cares about the outcome that is best for me and my child. If you need a family law attorney and someone in your corner Brian is your person, I know my child's life and mine would have been less than is possible now had I not made the best choice in hiring Brian Zoeller. I cannot say thank you enough for all that he and the Team at Cohen and Malad did for me and my child.

Working with Nicole Makris and Teresa Asbury over the last two years has really been a blessing. As many of us who have sought legal council know that when you’re in a crisis and the stuff has hit the fan, it’s hard to stay calm. It’s tough to not catastrophize the situation. Now with Nicole, I actually feel like I have somebody who can defend me and offer really good advice. She has been insanely helpful in answering questions even if I’m being a little extra. She is always quick to respond, even if she has an out of office message , I still typically get an email back sooner than I expected. Teresa is always quick to send over paperwork and is easy to talk to if something needs changed. You would do yourself a big favor in seeking Nicole’s council.

I hired Nicole Makris for a child custody case. The most immature inexperienced attorney I have dealt with. She doesn't seem to know how to communicate or deal with clients which is incredibly immature. We were on the same page in the original consultation and then she changed her mind and dropped me as a client right before mediation. I would think a firm of this stature would have a well versed attorney. Single mom of 2 kids and she did nothing but waste my money. Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake I did. In my opinion she is not worth what she charges.

I just wanted to share my experience with Cohen & Malad. I was in a serious accident and my attorney recommended Greg Laker at Cohen & Malad. Being my very first time in this situation I was confused and scared. Jeff Hammond was the first attorney I worked with and he was so professional and really helped me and cared for me. Then Greg Laker took over and I cannot overstate how great Greg was. He was so knowledgeable and kind and I received everything that Greg could get from the insurance company and he really went the extra mile for me. I feel like I am part of their family now. Lastly, Amanda May, the paralegal on my team was so professional and compassionate and kept me abreast of every aspect of the case. She is the best. Greg, Jeff & Amanda are so special to me and my family and I give them the highest rating that I can possibly give.
