***Edit/UPDATE after owner reply: I understand many go to great lengths to defend their reputation, but dismissing my claims with implications of dementia or confusion about WHO I SIGNED an attorney retainer is not only absurd but infuriating. It’s arrogant & insulting to suggest I can’t distinguish between retaining an attorney for representation & a brief consultation. Your refusal to conduct even minimal due diligence & deflect blame onto dissatisfied clients is typical. It shows EITHER your ignorance of the situation or your hubris & intent to defame me to evade responsibility. Either way, it's unprofessional in the very least! Your dismissive response shows a complete lack of concern for a former client’s concerns. I have a signed contract with your firm, so let’s be clear: the case was denied due to a lack of records, not a lack of substantive value. According to your staff, particularly Diane, & I have extensive emails regarding this case & the alleged 'missing file' you had the whole time! MOST responsible, attentive & concerned owners/mngrs would offer a direct email to AT LEAST address & investigate complaints. If you DID, you would see the evidence I have. But I suspect, you very well know the specifics of this case & prefer to save face rather than remedy the situation. Shameful! Orig review: Be VERY wary of contacting this law firm for medical malpractice suit, GO ELSEWHERE! AND if you are wronged by them, follow up, file a complaint with the ARDC (attorney review discipline committee or similar in IN), &/or if you were egregiously harmed, seek further JUSTICE through legal chann! They botched my mom's very WINNABLE malpractice case, during me along until it was too late! .After SIGNING A RETAINER & submitting ALL requested files, records, etc, they CLAIMED they were missing a hospital file (diff hosp, AFTER the INITIAL negligence, diff hosp, Drs & diff STATE), DESPITE having ALL files the whole time!! Yet it appears ONLY admin staff, NOT attorneys, like Diane & others didn't properly review precisely WHAT files WERE there, & after many months, (9+) passed, they REFUSED Mom's case for lack of files, THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE 2 YR SOL PERIOD! HOWEVER, when they returned the files to me, THEY HAD THE EXACT FILE (1700 pg hosp file they claimed was incomplete, yet WAS COMPLETE & had the whole time). After contacting 7 other attorneys NONE would take Mom's case due to LACK OF TIME TO PREPARE such a complex case, 3 mos prior to SOL! I asked this firm, specifically DIANE, to double check, to look over the files, & ASSURED HER I SENT THE CORRECT DISC to which she claimed I did not! I even asked if they could look at the 1000s of pages of files from the orig Dr & hospital WHERE THE ACTUAL neglect/malpractice occurred, where she was taken off of antibiotics, discharged with BONE INFECTION, taken off pain meds, WITH GANGRENE, THEN that Hosp wanted to amputate WHOLE foot, (hosp I transferred her to only amputated a toe), again THEY REFUSED to review the files they had... They stated I didn't give them the files from the hospital/Drs who SAVED my mom FROM the negligence she suffered.... BUT, when they returned all the files to me, the SAME file they claimed to never have & was 'incomplete' (2k pages), WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME! For THAT, I will be filling a complaint & seeking to find SOME relief for my mom getting NOTHING for her suffering UPON suffering... HAD THEY LOOKED AGAIN as I asked, THEY WOULD'VE SEEN THEY HAD THE FILE THEY CLAIMED THEY DIDN'T... Now, MY MOTHER suffered physical, mental, etc, irreparable HARM & can NEVER be made even partially whole for the pain & YEARS taken away from her at that hands of a malicious Dr & negligent Hosp with CALLOUS DISREGARD for her life or well-being & THEN,, a law firm that was supposed to help her see justice, failed her miserably AS WELL! Do yourself a favor, take your case anywhere but HERE!

Powless Law Firm has served our family as a guiding light through a dark and damaging experience with the public health system. The communication flow is excellent and any time we had questions or concerns they were met with answers and reassurance. God willing we never have an experience similar to what made us reach out to Powless, but if we do Powless will be the first call I make.
