I am proud to say that not only did Jeff Powless work diligently, and tirelessly on my mothers case, but he was also respectful and kind with unsettling details during the entire drawn out process. Losing a family member is never easy, especially a parent. Everyone at this office is kind and patient. They take everything very seriously, and you will feel like they don't have any cases other than yours. They will make sure you understand all that is going on and will answer any questions you have. They always answered my emails and calls quickly. They also care about your feelings and are aware of the sensitive nature of the case and how hard it is for you, and they will do their best to make you feel better. If I ever needed to I would hire them again, and I would have my friends call them as well if they needed an attorney.

Powless's excellent book Abuses and Excuses has assisted my staff and me tremendously in our work as long-term care ombudsmen. I believe so strongly in this book that I have recommended it as required reading to my colleages who are hiring new ombudsmen. The book was enjoyably readable, reasonable, and validating. I am eternally grateful for Powless and his generosity. I recommend this book to ANYONE. It is likely that most people will either work in long-term care, personally experience the long-term care system, or care for someone who lives in a long-term care facility. This book is for YOU!
