I found myself in a terrible situation where circumstance landed me in jail- long story short Attorney Brown was appointed my PD and he worked harder for me than any Attorney I have ever paid in my life! I am a previously convicted Felon who screwed up probation 5x, Alice house 2x and ended up finally (deserveringly so) being sent to DOC in 2015 by Judge Harper bc as she said whether it felt like it or not she was saving my life- and she did! Attorney Brown didn't know realize when he got my case he was getting someone with a background that didn't exactly scream innocent or good candidate for another shot a probation but alot had happened in the 8 years since my release including 8 years of recovery and clean time, a marriage and pending divorce, a 4yo little girl and a little boy (who at the time I was pregnant with) the first time I met with Attorney brown he made me one promise, that he would fight for me and he kept it! Albeit, my water broke in judge deboers courtroom 2 months premature, he handled it professionally informing the judge and offering to call an ambulance and even help me out of the building but I had my sons father with me and was able to get to southbend where I eventually gave birth although prematurely to a relatively healthy son- Atty brown did exactly what he promised and when the state presented a plea that would have cost me my housing program, he fought for me and got me a plea that was basically the equivalent of a behavioral deferment with 1 charge completely dismissed and upon successful completion of a little over a year of probation the ability to have it dropped to a misdemeanor! He fought for me and my family, was more communicative than any paid attorney I have ever had, and never left me confused through out the process! He is far from a public "pretender", he is the best public defender Porter county has to offer in my opinion and if he will work that hard for someone who cannot pay him imagine what he will do for you if you can! He is young (mid to late 30s) but don't let that fool you, he's hungry and he's making a name for himself! You want Attorney Brown in your corner! Lord knows I am forever grateful I had him in mine! This is a great law firm. If there’s something you need to take care of, and it’s in their practice areas I wouldn’t hire anyone else. I specifically dealt with attorney McCleary. She was very thorough. Answered all my questions and concerns. Another thing that really stuck out was the level of communication, flawless. The office staff were great too. All around great experience working with them.

Attorney Russell Brown exceeded my expectations in handling my case, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing representation in court. While my case made me seriously question our justice system and doubt its integrity, I felt Attorney Brown was competent and ready to fight for what was right despite whatever the court was prepared or not prepared to do. Ultimately, he was able to have my case dismissed even though we were ready for trial, and I really had no doubt that had we gone to trial, he would have won my case anyway. Russel got me the sweetest plea deal ever. With the work I put in to prove I was better I got 2 of my felony’s dropped and my last one brought to a class a misdemeanor. He was fair w his price as well and did not drag the case on for ever I’m very happy w his work
