We just adopted 2 children using Rebecca Bruce as our attorney and we had a wonderful experience with her. She always replied to emails very promptly and her paralegal was very professional and knowledgeable and took our calls whenever it was needed. We do not have a single complaint about using this firm and we had a very positive experience from beginning to end; it was a long experience, almost a full year and she was very helpful for every step of it.

Steven did a wonderful job representing us. He knew the law and how to establish a case built around it, no matter how complex the issue may be. He was honest and up front from the beginning with possible outcomes but never gave up fighting for us or our children and what we wanted.

I had a three-o’clock appointment with Mr. Bruce that I had scheduled two weeks ago, i.e., free consultation. I walked into the office right at 2:59 PM. I checked in with the receptionist who seemed to know nothing of the scheduled appointment. She asked if I could fill out an intake form. I politely told her that I preferred not to, until I had spoken to the lawyer. I added that I had given the details over the phone. She told me that would be fine and advised that I tell that to the lawyer myself. I waited in the lobby for exactly 15 minutes. At 3:15, a white-bearded gentleman came out of a back office and went into the reception area. Rather than apologizing for being late or at least introducing himself, he arrogantly and loudly asked what my name was. I walked up to the reception area and told him what my name was and asked for his. Exhibiting facial expressions of disgust and anger, the gentleman disregarded my question and stated that I either filled out the intake form or got out and walked out from the reception window. I calmly responded that “I’d rather speak to the lawyer first.” He came back to the window and repeated, “you [I] either fill out the form or get out.” I replied, “just like that? He responded, “yes just like that. Get out.” I told him that (his attitude and walking away while still in conversation) was rude and I was glad he showed me his true face early on. I added that he just lost a client.

I've never hired an attorney but I've discussed fees with a couple before and I just feel like $800 for a divorce is a bit much. I could be wrong though.
