I really wish I read the reviews before hiring him. The final straw was the way he talked to me. He is a very rude man. He blew through my retainer and started we weren't even close to being done. When I asked about it, he stated it will only cost more if I keep asking questions. I fired him and now I hope someone reads this and talks to other lawyers before hiring him.

All he wanted was money, money, money... I was giving him my whole checks...I got behind one payment and he used it to drop my case, then had the nerve to try and suit me but it was thrown out. He will take your money!! And do nothing for you! I wish I would have read the reviews on him..

I am very impressed by how quickly Eric and his team were able to review all of the documents and information regarding my situation (I must add that my situation is very complex and unique) and within days he was on the same page as I completely understood the issues. Within a week Eric took action in my case and has been fighting in my defense ever since. Eric is on top of things, responds in a timely manner, is always very professional, his staff is always friendly when interacting with me, and most importantly he has remained loyal to me. It is hard to find a lawyer that works for you and stays loyal to you. I have hired several different lawyers for my situation and either they want to take the easy way out by taking shortcuts, or they would to talk me into doing things I don't want to do, or doing things I didn't know about just to avoid the extra energy it took to satisfy my wishes during my case and Eric is the first attorney out of them all that I am completely satisfied with. So satisfied that I hired him for another case that I am currently dealing with, he is currently working on 3 cases of mine and I couldn't be more relieved. Eric is very intelligent, and firm when handling matters involving my cases. Eric respects my requests and is always honest and direct when providing me with answers or information regarding my case. Eric's services are not cheap, but it's money well spent and well deserved. Once hired, Eric completed more progress on my case in less than a week, than any other attorney has the entire time (almost a year).

I hired this guy and can say he is nothing more Than a thief. After waiting and waiting and paying and paying he did absolutely nothing. He acknowledges his guilt by doing business remotely either through email or phone calls he refuses to meet in person If you Got to his office it is locked and his secretary will conduct business with you through the Mail Slot in the door please please Read These Reviews and note the common theme thing rings true in each and every one of them. Retained services and was billed for literally 2 communications via webmail and no other action taken. Requested retainer refunded as my case was in limbo and although he returned it he doubled my retainer when I needed services again and was extremely condescending and rude in the process

Don't waste your money! Do not retain Him. He is only in the Law Business for the money and notoriety! Instead of representing his clients, after he has already been paid a LOT of money, he stands outside the Scott County Justice Center with an automatic weapon, bullet-proof vest, and mask protesting! Ask other attorneys in the area and they will tell you what a joke he is! He actually owes someone I know, money, a refund for lack of representation!

Eric had my case I have never been in trouble. for months I waited, was told my court would be in January sometime. I gave him $4000 and nothing, worse off then I was. My brother passed away and I had to go take care of all his belongings, everything he owned, bills paid, funeral etc. Had my husband send eric an email to let him know. I came back end of dec eric dropped me and I was worse off the the first time , $4000 less as well. My husband said all eric said to him was , she better not be avoiding prosecution or running from the law, something to that effect. I would not use him.

Hired attorney Puryear to represent me in a divorce he didn’t show up for one of the most important court days! He handles his clients very poorly I would refer him to my worst enemy. The only thing his firm is concerned with is money

Wast of time people! I hired him as an attorney long time ago, 2 years later he haven’t touch my case. He has extremely rude, uneducated and unprofessional secretaries. He avoid calls and won’t follow up if you leave voicemail. Terrible attorney!!! Made a huge mistake by working with him. Do make the same mistake!!!

I hired this lawyer to help me in a daycare case so that I could keep my license. He seemed nice and legit at first. My husband paid my retainer fee of $730 and I submitted documents he requested. He want payments on the 7th day the invoice comes out. Because I used the wrong account to pay the bill and corrected it a day or to later, which he was paid successfully, he wanted another $2000 retainer fee which my husband and I do not have as I’m not employed at the time and we have bills to take care of. Because I didn’t have the money by noon he withdrew from my case. I’m trusting and believing that God will be the attorney by my side and I will win my case and Eric Puryear is going to have to answer to God for his gluttonous desire. Robbing from the poor. Revenge from God will be sweet to all who was taken by this man. I plead the blood of Jesus over all that we will Have victory!

I hired Eric for my attorney for a divorce any turn me over to one of his associates that just got out of college lost the case had to pay my ex-wife a half a million dollars had to pay my attorney fees had to pay her attorney fees and have to pay her $1,000 a month as long as she lives he's all about money if your 1 hour late he will take you off the case actually he overcharged me on some items and he took me to court to get the extra money and it was proven that he did over charge in the judge told me I did not have to pay him so he will sue you

Make sure to pay close attention to the negative reviews on this attorney -- they are extremely accurate and I wish I had seen them before contacting Eric Puryear. I hired Eric to defend my brother last year, who had been arrested on a few charges that should have never been made (he was in the wrong place at the wrong time). As someone who once considered law school, it seemed like a relatively simple defense case -- and Eric was local to Davenport and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. That was my big mistake. After convincing me to hire him (and getting paid), Eric did little to no work on the case, and failed to even upload simple documents that would have assisted in the case. The hardest work he did on the case was convincing me to hire him, and then when my brother and I tried to follow up with him on the status of the case he seemed annoyed, abrasive, or at best, indifferent. If you'd like to hire a criminal defense attorney, I'd recommend doing your research before getting scammed by this guy. In all honesty, you would be better off going with a public defender than Eric Puryear. Once we hired a new lawyer, he worked diligently to drop almost all of my brother's charges, and reduce the last charge to a minor misdemeanor offense. Not only did he work much harder than Eric for our case, but also had a much better reputation with the judges and attorneys. The last thing I would ever do is recommend Eric Puryear. I'd give him 0 stars if I had the chance.
