Tara Hofbauer was my attorney for a custody modification. I could not have been happier with the outcome. She was able to brainstorm with me in a very timely manner on ideas and possibilities until we came up with one that fit my situation perfectly and the outcome for me was as good as it gets. She was creative with helping things get approved and moving forward until they were finalized and also made me aware of the good and bad things that could come out of all possibilities. I hope i never have to but if i needed this service again I would go back to her in a heartbeat.

Many times, attorneys have to deal with the most difficult situations. During my "difficult situation," Tara Hofbauer has been understanding, fierce, wise, and fabulous. I couldn't ask for better representation. Highly recommend!

I did not have a pleasant experience with this firm. You pay a lot of money for very sloppy work and poor communication. I originally hired Ryan Weese as the attorney for my divorce. When doing the initial call, he said he had another attorney with him to go over my case. This attorney was Tara Hofbauer. While I understand attorneys having paralegals and things, I was not expecting to be billed for two attorneys. For the most part, Tara was the main attorney who worked on my case. Even though I fully understand a profession where you bill by the hour, I feel I was billed unreasonably and unfairly throughout this entire process. For example, Tara and I had an e-mail exchange where it was just to make an appointment to meet in person. I was billed .3 hours for each of the e-mails for a total of .9 hours. I was billed almost her entire hourly rate for asking for a day/time to meet with her and Ryan, her providing the days/times they had available, and me picking one. I could see billing .3 for the entire exchange, but .9 was ridiculous. There were also several months with no communication from them regarding the case. I had to follow up on several occasions and was billed each time I sent an e-mail even though several of them went unanswered. So they basically acknowledged they saw my e-mail by entering another .3 in their billing system, but did not respond to me. I was made promises of having certain things completed within a week or two and then several more weeks go by with nothing being done on my case and no communication letting me know there was a delay. I did not feel that they were looking out for mine and my daughter's best interest, safety, and well-being. There were documented incidents of abuse and neglect by my ex and I was told by Tara that "Even bad fathers still have rights." That is the sad truth of the family court system, but it's not what your attorney should be telling you. Overall, I feel like I did most of the work on the stipulation and was billed for work I had already done. Tara relied on her assistant to put together most of the responses to interrogatories and I feel like she didn't review it because there were a few responses that were completely messed up with alternate usage of first person/third person. I don't believe Tara looked at any of the documentation I submitted. She started the stipulation as a standard form with joint everything when she already had a list of things that were my absolutes. I feel she just wanted more of the back and forth to be able to bill more. I was left hanging regarding child support. My attorney and his attorney pretty much put it on the other and nothing got accomplished. At this point, my ex was behind on child support. I called Tara and she said even though it was his attorney's responsibility to do the income withholding order, she would go ahead and prepare one for me at no additional charge. Tara's assistant filled out the income withholding form wrong not specifying that he was behind so when payments were garnished from his check, it was taken as if he was current. While I was not charged for the income withholding order, I was charged for the phone call that took place regarding the income withholding order. I'm happy for those of you that had a positive experience. I honestly wish I could say the same. One of the reasons I went to them was because of the high reviews and the qualifications that were listed. While I ended up with a lot of what I wanted, it was a rough process getting there. I did most of the work on the stipulation regarding custody and the visitation schedule and had to be the primary advocate for myself and daughter. If it wasn't for me being assertive, I don't feel I would have had the same outcome.
