Jay took it all the way (trial) and we won. Highly recommend his law firm. Best DUI lawyer in the KC Metro. Hands down.

Jay was extremely accessible and answered my questions quickly when they came up. He is very knowledgeable and knows how to handle things in court. Jay is nonjudgmental about your charges. I also had a friend that had a similar experience. Highly recommended.

Jay Norton is the best attorney money can buy in Kansas City to defend you in your DUI - DWI case. I literally called 6 attorneys in the area based off of online reviews and 4 of the 6 recommended Jay - one even went as far as to say that they would hire Jay if they had a DUI - and this is someone that defends people in DUI cases themselves! Regardless of your arrest circumstances, his intimate knowledge of the law and supporting literature around DUI cases is second to none. He wrote the book of defending DUI cases in KC. In my case, Jay was able to systematically argue that there was a definite lack of probable cause for my arrest even though I blew a BAC over the legal limit. Essentially, the officer had no right to place me under arrest given I had arguably "passed" the field sobriety tests. Any case is hard to win against the state, but Jay made it nearly impossible to convict me given the facts he argued so well on my behalf. Jay won the arguments against the state and the case was dismissed! DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON YOUR ATTORNEY. HIRE JAY AND YOU WILL NEVER FEEL UNDER-REPRESENTED.

I got arrested on charges of a DUI and never thought I would be in that situation. I never had a ticket in my life and was in a situation I didn't need. Next morning I called 3 lawyers, Jay being the last one. First one said to look up a case in which someone didn't get off their charges but said I had a case (they didn't talk about their own experience on winning/losing DUI cases). Next one told me he would represent me but I was going to bite the bullet on it. Jay called me on a Sunday and said straight up that he could win my case and has won it before. I chose to go with him because of the confidence and prior reviews of people winning their cases. 4 months later, my case was dismissed from Overland Park on a DUI case which is highly unlikely. He was communicative and kept me up to date on every step of the way. Also the price was fair and within the 3 lawyers I contacted, it was competitive. I didn't have to be present at each hearing which was nice. I never leave reviews for services but would write one easily for Jay.

There ARE still attorneys in the world who honestly care. Our son was a college student with minimal funds who found himself in a situation that required legal assistance. He had to rely on court appointed counsel and yet, Mr. Norton, gave of his time, his expertise, and his resources to help us. Also, we are located in a rural part of the state so the "lawyer pool" is minimal/limited. I contacted Mr. Norton as a consult. He returned my call personally, in the evening during off hours, and listened kindly without judgement. He was truly interested in our fight and it wasn't "for the money". He offered suggestions, forwarded vital information, and provided encouragement, right then and over the days that followed, all the while, knowing there was no money in it for him. This mom's heart was wounded watching "the system" apply draconian consequences to a man who just wanted the chance to defend himself. Thank you Mr. Norton for your expertise and kindness.

Mr. Norton represented me in a DUI case and I am more than pleased with his work. From our initial meeting when he fully explained the charges and the potential outcomes to the final day in court I felt confident in Mr. Norton. He maintained a professional demeanor when dealing with the court that showed mutual respect. In our meetings outside of the courtroom he was able to ease the tension and keep a sense of realistic expectation.
I certainly hope that I don't find myself in a situation where I need the services of an attorney again, but if I do there will be no hesitation to call Mr. Norton.

This was for a pull over, DUI charge and Driving License hearing at the administrative center. In about 6 months, and especially with the 'different world' situation this year, it was a blessing that he got me out clean in both the hearings. I was in a terrible situation, emotionally as well, but talking to him helped me get back to my life sooner.
Being my first time, I looked everywhere online and found only the best few in my area. Jay, undoubtedly, topped the list. A couple of other lawyers recommended him also. I think most of them were good and helpful in my selection. Jay is calm, will listen to you carefully, and will give you facts and he’s a no-nonsense guy. My first two visits were very cheerful, giving me some hope (but mostly positive vibes) and I knew that no matter the case outcome, he will do his best with what is right. I hired him in less than a week, his firm allowed me to pay in two installments. I did not even have to go to any hearing, but I chose to do so with him as an experience. He also treats every case independently and he listened and took my inputs also as I had a different VISA situation. He recommended and discussed my case with top immigration lawyers in the country. He is very well respected in the community, a professional and a thorough gentleman. He spends considerable time in analyzing your case, reports, videos, etc. He arranged a face to face to discuss once he had all the facts with him and gave me exact options that would be outcomes of my case. He is always available on phone/text. It has never been more than 8 hours for his email response to mine.
He has a great personality and when he does his job, he is the best. I strongly recommend him and even though he might be a little on the expensive side, I think he's every penny worth. He will act as a strong shield until you are back to your normal life. You will never be disappointed with his work. All the best, thank you.

Simply stated: Jay Norton is the best in his field. He is professional, honest, and has a very high level of integrity. He is willing to explain the major and minor issues concerning your case. He will not oversell himself, and in my opinion, he will over deliver. He was my third consultation when others just wanted to take an easier approach to my case. He is methodical, extremely knowledgeable about the Law, and is actually interested in your well being. I wish the world was filled with more people that are this honest and carry themselves with as much integrity as Jay. Do not hesitate to seek his opinion before committing to anyone else for representation. I wish I would have sought his services out initially.
Thank you Jay Norton for all your efforts!!

I as pulled over and charged with DUI. I refused all tests and politely requested a lawyer. Refusal to test leads to automatic loss of driving privileges in Kansas unless you prevail in criminal trial and administrative hearing. I'm 48 years old and work in outside sales and I make calls in my personal auto - in Missouri AND Kansas (I live in Missouri). I was referred by a friend who Jay had helped out with his DUI. Very quickly we had an administrative hearing (which we did not prevail at - 99.9% of the time you don't). So I was not going to be able to drive in Kansas - which would cost me my job. We appealed administrative suspension to buy time until my criminal trial for DUI. Jay was successful in the criminal trial - not guilty! But I still had the administrative suspension to contend with - these are nearly impossible to win. But Jay won it for me. Not guilty on criminal charges and retained all my driving privileges in Kansas since Jay was successful on the administrative appeal. I can't say enough good things about this guy. I recommend him fully and without reservation.

I was charged with a DUI and hit-and-run in Kansas. I was given Jay's name from several folks as the "best of the best" to defend this type of case. I interviewed Jay and 3 other lawyers that were referred to me. I ultimately hired Jay and it was the best decision I could have made. Jay has been amazing throughout this entire process, which has been difficult from an emotional, social, and career standpoint. Because I didn't want to go to trial and risk a DUI conviction, Jay worked his tail off to get me the best possible diversion deal. He's been available to me every step of the way, including giving me his cell number and responding to my texts and calls almost immediately. Jay is brutally honest and doesn't sugar-coat things, which I truly appreciated -- it helped me to appropriately evaluate my next steps instead of having false hope. I would hire Jay all over again and I highly recommend him if you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of needing of a criminal defense attorney.

Jay is the most knowledgeable lawyer I have ever worked with. In the time he represented me there were multiple times where he explained the law in a particular area only to be proven right by the judge. In addition to his expertise I appreciated the fact that he explained the law to me, explained the options I had, and provided guidance yet ultimately looked to me for a decision. When dealing with a life changing situation like this it was invaluable to have a lawyer that has your back like Jay did!

After being charged with a DUI I was scared and did not know what to do and called Jay on a Friday evening. He offered to meet me first thing the next morning (obviously a weekend) and work through the specifics of my case. Jay was honest and did not sugar-coat the risk of my decision but put me at ease with his knowledge and confidence around the legal process. Jay impressed me most when in a preliminary hearing he was able to present evidence that was new to even the judge and prosecutor with printed copies in hand to prove his point successfully. While advising me, Jay left the decisions in my hand every step of the way. Jay never encouraged me to plea or take a charge as I said from day one that was not an option in my mind. The case ended in a jury trial where Jay fought for two days to defend my innocence. The result of this work and time was a verdict of 'not guilty.' I could not give a higher recommendation - Jay works with integrity, is confident in the courtroom and knows the law better than anyone else I have experienced. I refer him to anyone who finds themselves in a tough situation as I know he will fight as hard for them as he did for me.
