When I started my child custody advocate search, I was very nervous. I had no idea who to look for or where to begin. A simple google search brought me to Mr. Steve Henry and I couldn't be happier. Over a year a ago, I required child support representation. After reviewing my case, two separate high priced attorneys informed me that that my initial settlement was so lopsided that they would not take my case. Fortunately, I contacted Attorney Steve Henry online. After reviewing my case, he also reiterated that my child support settlement was lopsided, but also said that all was not lost. He informed me that his partner, Attorney Kyle Barscewski would be willing to take my case, as long as I understood that there was only a 50% chance of revising the child support settlement. I have found Steve, Kyle and Lisa Rodriguez (Legal Assistant) to be the consummate professionals who have a solid grasp of the area of law that they practice (child support, marital separation agreement, parenting plan and child custody). In my case, Kyle made a very scholarly and detailed argument on my behalf that impressed Judge Keven M.P. O’Grady and his clerk. The case took exactly a year and I ended up with a more reasonable child support settlement. 

I am very fortunate to have The Henry Law Firm, P.A. in my corner. They are truly a professional service firm. During business hours, the phone was always answered, detailed periodic emails kept me informed, finer points of the law were patiently and clearly explained. Most of our communication was via email, but phone or video chat were also used. In the future, if the need for an attorney arises The Henry Law Firm, P.A. are a phone call away. The mental anguish and financial cost of going to court, could have simply been avoided by initially hiring the right attorney. If you can’t settle out of court amicably, get an excellent attorney! I would like to share a few details about my experience with The Henry Law Firm, P.A. I chose the firm after feeling out a number of family law attorneys in the Kansas City area. Hiring this type of attorney can be a very emotional process. You are dealing with issues such as child custody. And along with custody issues, inevitably comes the drafting of a parenting plan. They make sure that you are invested in the plan, and give you an active role in its design. The financial aspect of divorce can be intimidating as well. From the moment you enter their Corporate Woods office, they make you feel very much at ease, as you can tell they are very adept at the services they provide. They make you understand that they have helped many families over the years, yet, the client ends up feeling that the firm's approach is unique to them. I have been involved with the The Henry Law Firm, P.A. for 5 years, and continue to keep them on retainer for any family court issues that may arise. If you choose this firm you will be very satisfied with the results.

Steve is most interested in "running the meter" and not so much actually representing the interests of his clients. I would avoid him as he'll act like he is representing your interests, but he's only representing his own. Also, you can ask a very direct, specific question and Steve will not give you an answer, but the response he provides is long-winded and confusing (and cost you a lot of money btw). Being able to provide clear, concise answers to your legal questions is one of the most important things an attorney is hired for. Being that he can't do that, and also being that he doesn't actually have the client's interests in mind, I would definitely avoid him completely.
