It all starts with an injury. An injury that changes one's life completely. An injury that robs a person of their physicality and also at times their sanity. Getting injured on a job is a complicated and distressing situation. It's a labyrinth of uncertainty. As many others that have found themselves at the mercy of workman's comp and Dr's who normally do not have their best interest in mind. I found myself having to make a difficult but necessary decision to seek legal council. I found an attorney locally who agreed to handle my case. I was hopeful. Together we gathered documents as i continued a tagled web of Dr. Visits. As time went on i heard less and less from my attorney. Eventually all communication stopped. I had not ever been in a situation like this and thought this must be the norm. One day out of the blue (after almost one year) i received a call. My attorney wanted to see me. I thought, finally we've reached the end. This was the furthest thing from the truth. The day I walked into that office was a day l will never forget. I was informed that although i had a case that would probably hold up and result in a favorable outcome for me, it would unfortunately not be lucrative for my attorney. I was told that he had deliberately ceased making any leeway on my case and that soon the Statues of limitation would be met and the case would be forced closed. I was shocked, angered, and disappointed! I grabbed my file and walked out of that office lost. I cried. I resigned to his words. I didn't know where else to look. Time went by and one day I asked the Lord to give me courage to start the process all over again but knew I was going to need help. My daughter (who had been with me every step of the way) started searching for a new attorney. Soon we came across a law Firm with a Name that Resignated with me. JUSTICE LAW! If I ever needed something at that moment was JUSTICE! From the moment we called I knew I had made the right decision. I ended up speaking with Mrs. Melissa Anderson-Hoff. She listened to me. She spoke to me with such sincerity. She gave me hope. She was very honest in her approach and she explained the severity of the situation my last attorney had left me in. Regardless she jumped right in. To make a long story short. I'm pleased to say that I have been granted a favorable outcome!! Mrs. Melissa stood by my side every step of the way. She handled my case with such a high level of professionalism and treated me with dignity and respect. Her and her legal team (Mrs. Cassie and Mrs Page) are such a blessing. I was grossly misinformed of my charges by Robin Bennett’s paralegal Clayton. I don’t think she knew any better than he did either seeing as she told me that straight probation/parole was a likelihood, which it really is not (in the one incredibly brief phone call I had with her.) I’d ended up getting another lawyer very early in due to lack of urgency on their part also. And was only given a partial refund which I don’t understand because they didn’t even meet with me in person and were very hard, if not impossible, to get ahold of over the phone. It took over two months after being indicted on slightly lowered charges to learn that the lowered charges still carry more than double the time I’d been attempting to prepare myself for over the last two+ months. I’m very upset because it seems the absolute most basic thing you could do as a legal team is know, or least look up if you don’t know, the correct laws. Both charges were communicated to me as being at least one ‘class’ lower than they are (one that I was told was a misdemeanor is actually a felony, making a massive difference in my total possible time.) The laws relevant to my case were updated in ‘22, they gave me old info. Update your stuff! Didn’t seem that he even was reading me anything, quoted it off the top of his head. Really no idea what they kept that $2500 for because it wasn’t for representing me and it wasn’t for accurate legal knowledge.

I was referred to Scott Justice at Justice Law by a well trusted advisor, and I couldn't have asked for a better result. The team that handled my case was very open, communicative, friendly, punctual, and patient. My advice for anyone with a workers comp case would be to CALL A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY and not to wait until the doctor discharges you like I did. I had no idea what I was doing. I will be suggesting Justice Law to any and all in my proximity; you couldn't ask for better qualities in a team. I hope this helps any who were in a position similar to the one I was in.
