Very helpful, no-risk consultation!

My friend and I met with Mr. Weiss for an hour. He determined the type of trust we both should have. My friend got some explanation for her trust because it involved real property. I was told I would be put in a different kind of trust. No explanation. It made me a little uncomfortable yet I trusted his expertise. Mr. Weiss asked for and received $500 each as a down payment. Subsequently I was going through some material he gave me and discovered that a trust is not protection from the government if you suffer from diseases such as Alzheimer or Parkinson's. I have Parkinson's . I have had it for over seven years. My friend had an important question about her trust as she owned the house in common with her daughter. We attempted to speak with Mr. Weiss and contacted him by email and telephoned with no success. I realized that we just should have said we had questions, but we were straight forward and indicated we wanted to discuss getting our money returned. I'm guessing that is why we never received a response. Only he knows. If its a matter of "buyer beware" so be it. I know that the work involved is largely boiler plate, (cut out a clause here: put in a clause there, and fill in the blanks for who, what when and where) and I have no problem with paying for someone's experience and know how. But we received nothing … not even a phone call. For me, it is a bit short on professional and very short on kindness.
