I had a complicated and sensitive custody case that involved criminal accusations. Being unknowledgeable and timid about how the law works, it required guidance that I do not feel I would have received from another attorney. My case(s) had already begun before I was able to hire Mr. Alford, but once on-board, his demeanor offered comfort in the midst of a terrible and scary time for me. He immediately went to work and began consultation with other agencies that were involved to help me resolve the situation and guide me through a very long, arduous process. I was very intimidated by all that was going on, but Mr. Alford and those in his office gave me hope where my experience with other attorneys had left me feeling lost. The entire staff is warm and friendly rather than stiff, detached, and overly professional like I had experienced with others prior to hiring Jeff; everyone made an effort to make me as a client feel comfortable. Hi... well, most people don't want to relive their experiences with lawyers; and actually I don't either!! I do however want to tell others what a great attorney Jeff is! When I first visited him, I was possibly at one of my lowest points in life. What I liked about Jeff is that he asked me straight forward questions and gave me straight forward answers. He was compassionate, kind, and sensitive to my situation without being condescending! He took me at my word but asked to back what I said! I liked him because it was like talking to a real person not a "lawyer!" He was personable and tried to keep everything in perspective for me throughout the course of my ordeal( which was over 2 years long)! It had us in court on numerous occasions and Jeff was there every time without fail! I have always been able to contact him with a response from someone through the office or e-mail or even his cell phone when I really needed it!!! Some of this is general information but it is none the less relevant! I have just won my most recent case and obtained full parenting responsibility for my son which keeps him out of harms way! Mr. Alford has been helping me with my divorce case since 2011. In addition to handling the divorce decree, he has advocated on my behalf at least three other times regarding child support, maintenance and other financial concerns in the case.
