Awful at communicating and follow through. Would charge me for following up on them, would charge me for redoing paperwork after they made mistakes after I paid to meet with them… Took years and we are still not done because of lack of presence and concern for me as a paying client. Unfortunately, 0 stars is not an option.

Stay as FAR away from this office as you can!! I hired Sheila for a custody case. No communication. Lies. Paid $5k retainer and all she did was push hearings back and agree to a consent judgement that I knew nothing about. Trust me when I tell you…..stay away from This office.

Absolutely terrible lawyer as far as communicating with you as a client. I fully understand the fact of being busy with other people. I have left upwards of 5 messages to her and didn't hear anything from her till my last message saying I want to withdraw as her client. If she was great for other people that's awesome but for me and my situation it was a huge waste of money and time. So if you like communication and don't mind paying for it go to someone else that will give you a time of day.

She is a great attorney! But the cost of her services keeps going up. Wish she would change what she's worth, fight as hard as she does and leave it at that. But if you have the money she's awesome!

My case could have been resolved with a clean sweep. $5k paid in advance. Two days before court I get a call… my attorney will not be able to attend. My “substitute” attorney was great for what she was given, but was poorly informed as to what was going on. This caused my case to drag out over multiple hearings and got me nowhere. Nearly 10k in I was forced to throw in the towel. If communication happens with this office at all it’s over speaker phone and attorney sounds like she’s across the room with her head in a file cabinet. Legal aid actually told me, “We are not your babysitter don’t call unless you legitimately need to. The form is pretty straight forward, I’m sure you can figure it out. “ All I could say was, this call has already cost me $50 bucks. I really would not be on the phone right now if I understood. “

I wish there was a zero rating. My experience with this attorney was very unprofessional, no updates on the case, no communication, every call is answered by receptionist who isn’t very knowledgeable about what’s going on and the paralegal is always busy with personal things. The only thing this attorney did consistently was send me a bill. After spending over 5k the only thing she did on my case is continue court dates 2X at the opposing party’s request, because they were not prepared. I was prepared and ready both times for the court dates and yet she billed me more money. I fired her and retained a new attorney in which it took 2 months before she released my remaining balance of nearly 2k that was left on my account. I should have read the reviews before retaining her. If you are seeking a lawyer that is aggressive, professional and will care about your case, don’t hire Sheila O’ Connor.
