Brittany is an awesome attorney. She is extremely knowledgeable in her profession. We are still working through my legal matters and hope they are resolved soon. I will write a final review when everything is complete.

If you want an inept, money grubbing, unethical lawyer, then Brittany Carter is your gal. She required a $6000 retainer from us (a teen) birth mother for a basic/form custody letter. Then she required (behind our back and a conflict of interest) another $6000 retainer from the adoptive parents. Once the adoption was not going through she continued to bill both parties. She billed to argue over receipt of payment. She billed over unnecessary phone calls, etc. When confronted with her unethical billing - we asked her to account for her charges (e.g. Why are you charging us attorney rates for administrative duties? Why are you even involved and charging us when this has nothing to do with what we hired you for?). Instead of addressing our grievances, Brittany immediately hired an attorney to represent her unethical billing. Pretty sketchy right there. When asked to reevaluate charges…crickets. She hired a lawyer to try and intimidate us. So guess what? That immoral crow made bank on us. But she will be reported to the Louisiana Bar because I don’t want anyone else to get screwed by this immoral beast.

Horrible lawyer! Could not have been a worse experience with Brittany Carter. We hired her for adoption based work. 1) She accepted money for the retainer from another party other than my wife and I, the clients, and then requested another retainer from us before any work had been done, which made everything extremely complicated. 2) Did not send an itemized bill once the work was concluded. She listed everything she did, but did not provide any details other than "phone call". 3) She hired an attorney to deal with us when we asked her to explain the outrageous charges. Many more details, but just know to stay away. Anyone else would be better.

I retained her in 2014 to dispute a personal matter for me. She told me to bring her her $2500 fee before the court date. She advised me to have my witness just do a statement of events and have it notorized in lieu of him coming to court, as he had just started a new job. I had his statement with me in court......AND IT WASNT EVEN ADMISSIBLE! NO written statements are admissible!! As an attorney how could she not know this?! Then she lied about what the Judge had said to make it look like I misunderstood!! That left me in a he said/she said situation, which didnt turn out in my favor. Of course she said she did a great job! My dog could do a better job. Then when i requested my file from her office she cursed me out on text for coming there! How i wish i had kept those! And during the court proceeding (that she assured me was going to be dismissed in my favor) she told me to “shut up and sign the papers”! I was in such shock it didnt dawn on me to stop everything right then and there and FIRE HER! Save your $$$

I would recommend you NOT to use this attorney. My sons late uncle who had custody of him passed away. I wanted to hire an attorney to help get custody of my son. My mother met with brittany, who said she would have papers notarized to give my mother provisional rights to make decisions over my sons medical, school, etc. Arrangements and led us to believe these papers would do so, however they did not. She misguided me in legal direction to get custody of my son and charged my mom $750 for a no good piece of paper, then called her child custody work legit. She lied and had paperwork notarized saying I was present for public notary and led me to believe that was legal, it is not. She lied about overnighting mail that we had to wait to come in three days regular mail. When we discovered the papers were useless, she stopped answering the phone for me, after I called to complain about the papers. She overcharges, under works, she is dishonest, she doesnt give credible legal guidance, and work she does is done illegally. Im reporting her to the louisiana bar association and the better business bureau.
