Jerri Smitko recently handled a case for me and I can’t say enough good things about her law firm. Her staff is wonderful and know what their doing. They really don’t go to court until all the ducks are in a row. They had some big shot attorney from Lafayette and she ran circles around him. Five witnesses were called against me, she used their own words against them and tore their story apart. (That’s not all she tore) If your case means a lot to you, I would give them a call

Jerri and her staff were a dream to work with. They handled our custody case, it was a very long process but after years and going going back to court over and over again, we won! She is a beast in court, and we never felt uneasy... couldn’t thank her enough for what she has done for my family!

Jerri is honest and will not milk you for what you do or don't have. Jerri's rate is what is because she does her best. Also as far as staff goes, Jodi has done a great jump listening to me, guiding me and supporting me. She is an angel. This lawfirm has good people, real people and you get what you pay for. If you want to wast your money, go hire this lady. Once you pay her, you going to sign so many pages to give her every right to mess you over, you will not get phone back from her. Further mire she will go to court unprepared. By far the worst attorney I ever hired.

I first went to this office over 2 years ago in desperate need for someone to assist me with child custody and community property issues. Ms. Smitko took my information and she and her team told me not to worry about anything, they would fight for me. My first experience of seeing her at work was during a deposition with my ex-husband. I was terrified and stressed until I could not sit still. This powerful attorney worked this event so hard and powerful and I never had to open my mouth. Each time I have had some issues with my case, she has worked and maneuvered so powerful and fiercely that all my anxiety left and I wasted energy. My recent court event, went so amazing with her quick thinking, enormous amount of knowledge and zest in performance in the courtroom which took my breathe away. But, the one thing that I can say that sticks out most about Ms. Jerri and her team, is the sincere love and patience they have invested to protect us.

They do not care about you or your case. Their staff is rude, liars and unprofessional. The second they receive your money they will suddenly treat you horribly. Beware of the lawyer Max Smitko he will not do anything for your case, will never answer his phone or messages, and is very unprofessional and rude. He was late to the first court date and the court had to wait on him and even call his office because he was so late. His client was so confused as to what was going on and what he was being asked because in 4 months the lawyer kept lying that he would go visit him and NEVER DID. We went three months calling his office and phone leaving messages to try to contact him and try to get an appointment with him but he would never call back. 2 weeks before our second court date he claimed that we said that we no longer needed his services when it was untrue because we had not been able to speak to him in 3 months. He dropped the case without letting us know or returning our money. He was than too big of a coward to come talk to us in person when we went to his office and he just hid there. He also missed important court dates that we were unaware of. We then found out that he has scammed many other people and has done the same thing and refuses to return your money. Don’t waste your time or money here because you will regret it.

Very loving people an a wonderful lawyer

If you are looking for a lawyer that is a go getter, this who you're looking for! If you have any bouts, you should go see her in action in court! The saying, "Dynamite comes in small packages". This is who they were talking about. An Absolute Monster in court!!!!

Absolutely awful. The office has the RUDEST receptionists with a childish attitude who avoid phone calls and emails and pretend they don't have any answers about where Smitko is once you get them on the phone. They even went as far as pretending they couldn't hear me on different phone lines!! I spent thousands to have paperwork filed, after already doing most of the legwork myself. I explained to both Jerri and Jodi (one of the rude paralegals) my purpose for filing and that ALL I needed was a "professional" to help me confirm the filing was being done in the proper way. After weeks and weeks of ZERO contact and multiple unreturned calls and emails, I finally had to explain to Smitko AGAIN for at least the third time over the course of 4 months what my case was even about, only to find out they still hadn't begun the filing process or even attempted to contact the other party!! AVOID this place at all costs if you want your case taken care of seriously and efficiently!
