I was in a bad car wreck about one year ago and had terrible back pain that forced me to stay home from my job and miss work. The insurance company was trying to blame it on a prior car wreck where I didn’t have any back pain five years ago. I didn’t feel like that was fair for them to not pay my medical bills and something for my continual pain and numbness. When the time came that I had to quit working because of multiple surgeries and pain, I applied for Social Security. My retirement income plans had been cut short and I had to do something! A good friend of mine convinced me to apply for Social Security. He said, “you have worked your entire life and paid into the system that was meant to help people like me.” I decided to complete the application process on my own. After all, how difficult can it be? I have my medical records indicating the limitations placed upon my body and I even had copies of my work counseling statements because of missed work. So, I began putting together my arguments in support of my application. After my video teleconference hearing with the Social Security Judge and their Expert witnesses, I was sure that my application would be approved. Everybody agreed with my case arguments! Even the Judge. Then the decision came in the mail several months later. This is when I learned that even the Social Security Judge has a Judge reviewing their decision. Denied was the outcome. This was the response to follow for the remainder of my appeals. Being told by the Social Security Administration that I had exhausted all of my case appeal avenues, I decided to find an attorney. I went on-line and began searching for the right attorney for my case. I live in Colorado so naturally I began my search there. I would like to say thank you to Loyd J Bourgeois firm. Y'all helped me with not just one case but two. About 7 yrs ago y'all helped my daughter win her SSI case. Then in 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Aggressive Invasive Breast Cancer. My heart broke. I didn't know how I was gonna do this. I was the head of my household. Needless to say I ended up loosing everything. I worked til I couldn't lift my head up due to Chemo. I was hospitalized three times with COVID once I had to have a blood transfusion. Thus far, my intake experience with Loyd J Bourgeois, LLC has been very refreshing and relieving. Emma, the Client Onboarding Coordinator, was amazing. She was professional, pleasant, patient and genuinely hospitable. It was the first time in 2 1/2 years that I didn't cry while discussing how I sustained spinal injuries & PTSD. Im from the Boston,Ma area. I missed an evaluation found myself not getting my SSDI money. After going to Social Security twice and being given the run around.
