Spoke with Mr. Wade and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional in guiding me through my options.

Amy is very personable; however I should have followed my gut when initial paperwork was file with wrong court. Long story short, in the end after repeated cancelled appointments, no requested call backs and not being able to pick up paperwork at her office due to other clients confidentiality. I terminated my contract of employment with this attorney.

Mr. Wade is awesome at taking care of your tax needs. He has excellent communication skills and great at explaining the steps he is taking and what to expect as a result. He is fast to reply to any questions you may have and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him!

I contacted James Wade at Beacon Tax Advocates, LLC. needing help with IRS issues for an estate of which I was the personal representative; a role for which I had no training. There were tax concerns for both the estate's individual and business taxes. I had been unable to effectively work with the IRS representatives. I finally contacted Beacon Tax Advocates, for no other reason than they were a Maine firm. I say "finally" only that, looking back, I could have saved myself a lot of time and frustration if I had contacted them from the start. They were incredibly responsive in responding to my inquiry and listening patiently as I described the issues. Their knowledge was immediately evident. As they worked through the tax issues, they stayed in contact , updating me on their progress. I can not speak highly enough of how that alone took away any anxiety, giving me assurance that they were working to resolve any issues and bring the matter to a conclusion. In short, through their hard work and persistence, the issues were resolved in a timely fashion and to the benefit of the estate and my peace of mind. We have worked with James on an IRS issue that had been on-going since 2019. The IRS claimed we owed them more than we had paid in taxes on our Federal return. When we followed James's advice and filed an amended return, the IRS agreed with James position and we received a significant refund (enough to buy a good used car!). James is easy to work with and highly responsive. He is willing to answer emails and provide advice without always charging hourly fees. Highly recommend him and I will use him in the future if we ever have IRS issues again.

I hired Amy to represent me in a divorce where federally protected monies as well as Maine laws relating to VA Title 38 Disability money. Both Federal law and Maine law says that VA Disability money is not to be counted as income in a divorce. Amy represented herself as being well versed in the area but said she had a paralegal who she considered an expert in said area. I never saw ANY outside staff when we had office appointments. On the day of my first hearing, she went to a court four cities over. When she finally showed, just under 2 hours late, she was not prepared. (NOTE: I'm a retired paralegal so am well cognizant of how a competent attorney acts!) After the hearing, she met with my sister and me and apologized for being late, for going to the wrong courthouse, and said that she would work my case for free as I had been doing all of the research for the case. Well, a couple of months later she demanded payment for hours that she had said she was going to do for free. When I refused she went to the court and filed documents that she had sealed where I'm sure she lied some more.

I had been attempting to work with the IRS on my own, until my revenue officer levied my bank accounts and my wages with zero communication beforehand. I realized that I was in over my head and needed to get some assistance. I called Attorney Wade’s office in tears and he promptly called me back and his responses truly honored the urgency and fear I was feeling. I met with him first thing in the morning, and the mess of paperwork I dropped on his desk closely mirrored the mess in my mind. He reviewed my notices and very calmly and clearly explained the options I had, which had not been presented by my revenue officer. He explained that he could certainly represent me, and at very reasonable rates, but he also stated that he thought I could navigate this on my own and save myself the legal fees. He took me though the exact forms I needed to file and in which order to tackle them, reviewed every route I could take, gave me contacts to call, and waited patiently while I took detailed notes on everything. I left his office and immediately started working my way though his to-do list, and within 24 hours I had levies lifted and a new, alternative solution in place. He even followed up via email several times to assist me in my process and answered additional questions. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and honest. I would not hesitate to use him in the future if I find myself in this terrible mess ever again.
