West did very little to help my case and then spontaneously quit representing me without helping me find another attorney, which is a breach of legal ethics. In my opinion, West is not trustworthy or competent. In the end, he refused to return the fees.

While Mr. West did not handle settlement of my late husband's estate, he was consulted and retained to assist resolving distribution of assets where an ex-spouse was beneficiary on an IRA account . The former spouse had, as part of a divorce settlement decree, relinquished all rights to any assets and this agreement was in writing. Even with this documentation, the financial institution would not distribute the assets to the estate without a release from the former spouse or a court order directing them to do so. The court ruled on two occasions that this was a family court matter and not a probate/orphan's court matter and thus not in their jurisdiction. As a result a court order was not an option. Mr. West located and communicated with the former spouse out of state, obtained a disclaimer form and did so with professionalism, compassion, and expertise.
