I highly recommend the Colbert Law Firm because of their work ethics and punctuality. Long story short within a matter of a business week my attorney (Janelle) changed the playing field in my case and her secretary (Margaret) made sure I never went unheard. They're so good I had a few issues after my case and they still assisted me. Overall Colbert Law Firm LLC is the absolute best Firm to go to in a custody battle

My son retained Attorney Elira for a legal matter over a year ago. He was incorrectly over charged over $1300+ on his card after his $5500 balance was paid in full. After numerous attempts to reach Attorney Elira to get updates on his case nothing was accomplished. Numerous emails and calls were made to the office to resolve the overcharged amount and get a status update on the case. We could not reach the attorney via email and phone. He would take weeks and months to respond. Subsequently, we terminated Attorney Elira for services not rendered and all the other challenges we experienced throughout our engagement. We asked Attorney Elira for a summary of all the hours he worked on our case and he was unable to provide it upon request. We followed up for that information for months. He then made up a bunch of charges to equate to the full amount we paid as a retainer basically he trumped up hours to equate to the $5500 retainer. His charges were fraudulent give that he added in extra calls and hours for so called work that was not completed. I would never recommend this attorney to anyone. He was unprofessional and lacks integrity.

I sought out the help of Janelle Ryan -Colbert right before the Pandemic hit.We actually never step foot inside of a court room. All of my court appearances were via zoom because of the pandemic. This was a first for Janelle and she handled it like she has done court over zoom before. Janelle did such an amazing job each time we went to court via zoom to help me get the outcome I wanted in my child custody case. I am a black father who wanted the best for my child and Janelle Ryan - Colbert made it her business to see that I received just that. Not only did Mrs. Ryan-Colbert help me win my case, she also provided great information and advise that guided me through the process. Mr. Samuel Q. Elira Sr. Esq. does not practice law the way that it is supposed to be followed in the courts of the United States local Circuit Court Judicial systems in the counties of Maryland including both Balt. Co. and Harf. Co. He repeatedly keeps saying at hearings and conferences that the statue of limitation in Maryland is not met and has run out. Or that a step sibling who does not reside in the same home that the victim does cannot obtain a protection order. Albeit, the fact that there is a shared sibling, a marriage joining the families; it does apply in the law of MD is met in this manner. In addition, in fact, a minor who is a victim of abuse has up 21 years of age to bring lawsuit against his perpetrators that is the law in Maryland. He (Mr. Elira) must follow the law not his opinions. Not professional & not responsive. Mr. Elira has misrepresented himself in fraudulently and irresponsibly telling several judges that the other party in his case had not sent to him documentation which was untrue or that it was just sent to him. Additionally, he has referred to the other party's counsel not by name on several occasions which is unprofessional but by saying "this young lady" instead of using their actual name despite receiving that regard. Mr. Elira has also ignored several emails from the other side and he stated that he would get back to the other side to no avail. An attorney shall provide competent representation to a client. Competent representation requires the legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness and preparation reasonably necessary for the representation.MD Rules Attorneys, Rule 19-301.1 RULE 19-301.1. COMPETENCE (1.1) Currentness An attorney should demonstrate respect for the legal system and for those who serve it, including judges, other attorneys, and public officials.” A failure to observe these Ideals is not of itself a basis for disciplinary sanctions, but the conduct that constitutes the failure may be a basis for disciplinary sanctions if it violates a provision of the MARPC or other relevant law. I contacted the Elira Law Firm and hired Samuel Elira to represent me in my divorce. From the beginning Mr. Elira, was honest and forthcoming about my advantages, weak points, and things to consider. He and his team set my expectations and met them at each turn (even exceeded!). Mr. Elira and his team were patient with my concerns, and always answered questions in a timely manner.
