I had the most amazing experience with Amos Whitney and his entire team at Weinberg & Schwartz. I was referred to Amos via a business associate to do an informational discussion about a divorce. My intention was to ensure that my divorce was positive and amicable, and to get some general counsel on how to best proceed. Amos helped our family navigate an outdated custody plan designed for grade school children which no longer fit the lifestyles of two teenagers. The custody case was originally settled more than ten years ago in a different state while my ex-husband and I were still active-duty military and we had both moved to different states after divorcing, making shared primary custody impractical. Additionally, I had initially agreed to no child support in exchange for primary physical custody and settled for minimal child support for 10+ years while I paid for medical expenses, child care, and day-to-day care and feeding for both of our children. It was unfair; however, I prioritized having my children with me while we traveled the globe in support of military service. Amos helped navigate this complex situation, stayed calm, professional, and focused even when the other side missed deadlines, failed to disclose income, made veiled threats, and tried to fight against paying a reasonable amount of child support. I couldn't recommend Amos more. Divorce is ugly and Amos helped me keep my cool through a lot of emotional drama. He explained everything thoroughly, walked me through all of my options, and helped me make the best decisions to end this awful process.  He became my advocate. He was thoughtful in his communications and always made time for me-- whether it was to talk me off the ledge or make suggestions on how to message things to my impending ex in a manner that helped move things along.  He is cognizant of how expensive this process is and I always felt like he kept that in mind as we planned our next move. My divorce had been stalled for months until I hired Amos and with his help and guidance, we were able to avoid court and come to an agreement in a year, despite constant roadblocks by the other party. Long story short, my custodial rights for my daughter had been terminated about 5 years ago (Fraudulent Child Protective Services Case). At the recommendation of another Attorney, I was forwarded to Mr Whitney who was extremely understanding of the situation and helped me through the process to get custody restored. My daughter's father was %100 on board, and everything was smooth sailing. Mr Whitney came up with a great plan and went beyond what I'd hoped the outcome would be. Not only did I have my daughter returned, but I was able to receive a degree of closure in regard to termination in the first place. Having to hire an attorney is never fun, but Mr Whitney and Ms Harriss made the process as painless as possible. Thank you for your time and attention in this case. Years after my divorce, the firm held the deed to one of my homes. Once the home was paid off, I contacted Amos and asked if he would follow up on the deed transfer. He did, and stayed on it to make sure the transfer was done correctly. I appreciated his time and concern for me that everything went well.
