I am a VA resident with an offense in Frederick Co. this past spring. Schaffer & Black came up in an internet search, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, thinking that being out of jurisdiction I would become a number. Eric Schaffer handled my case, and I cannot say enough about his team. They kept me informed, were professional and it was obvious that he is a very good attorney and has a good working relationship with the Court system. Eric breaks the mould of the stereotypical lawyer...great sense of humor, I truly felt he cared for my well being and was there to represent me with the best of his ability. I cannot say enough and do highly recommend his office.

I recently hired the law firm of Schaffer & Black, PC in Frederick, MD to represent me with my extremely difficult and complex Violation of Probation conviction stemming from an embezzlement conviction in 2010. This conviction was the result of my financial crime, one of the largest in the County in which I had previously resided. Having gone through several lawyers during my 7-year ordeal, one of which was disbarred for misappropriation of client funds, I was blessed to find Byron Black, the attorney who handled my case. Mr. Black went well beyond my expectations and hopes in finally being able to find a lawyer who not only understands the law, but is sincerely dedicated to understanding your case and ensuring that justice is properly served. Although well educated, I had no previous experience with either incarceration or probation and unfortunately, I soon learned that our legal system is a dangerous web and those whom should be there to give you guidance are so over burdened with other cases, that you are simply another file and their lack of sound advice may end you back in prison. Mr. Black was always there, always and promptly returned my calls and emails and did far more work then the compensation I was able to pay to his firm allowed. My advice from someone with a 100-year sentence and having spent 5-years of that sentence behind bars but is now free and able to remain with his family is always, always seek out the best lawyer you can. My advice is contact Schaffer & Black, PC and ask for Mr. Black.

Bryon Black was wonderful to work with. Excellent communication skills, very responsive to emails and phone calls. He is incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel secure the entire time I worked with him. I got the best outcome possible and that would not have happened without Bryon! Definitely recommend him!

Lena Clark is my estate attorney. She handled all my estate needs in a timely and expert manner. I've been very impressed with her knowledge and her way of being able to explain difficult legal terms so that I could understand what it all meant. She went above and beyond in assisting me. When I first went in there I didn't really know what I needed other than a Will. However, she was able to guide me through some other things that might be important to me that I had not thought of. I realize how important these matters are after having to deal with my sister's and my mother's estates. People tend to put this off; but I wanted to make sure I got it done. It's a big relief.
