On December 19, 2021, I consulted with Mr. Belcher about representation and asked whether he was practicing in the DC Federal Court and Mr. Belcher responded, “This sounds like a marketing ploy.” I responded that it wasn’t a marketing ploy and that it was an attempt to find representation. When I informed Mr. Belcher that I was no longer interested in him, he responded, “The only thing worse than a con man is a con man who can't admit the con.” The Preamble to the Maryland Attorneys' Rules of Professional Conduct states that an attorney shall, among other things, preserve the dignity and the integrity of the profession by his conduct, serve the public interest by communicating clearly with the general public, reflect a spirit of respect. Further, professionalism require civility in all dealings including showing respect and empathy for others. Ideals of Professionalism is to be observed in every kind of communication including resisting the impulse to respond uncivilly to electronic communications in the same manner as he would resist such impulses in other forms of communication.

Five years ago I had the good fortune of finding Mr. Belcher in a very random search of the entire internet! Our collaboration was the result of my ex filing a civil suit against me. Mr. Belcher accepted my case which as years passed, became quite complicated for various reasons. His strength and belief in his talents and skills helped me persevere through dark days that made me feel like throwing in the towel! Steadfastly and with the utmost professionalism and compassion he proved to me that he truly is a GREAT attorney and a fantastically honest human being! Accolades to both Mia and Heba!!!! I retained Dr. John Christopher Belcher after dissatisfaction with a prior attorney. I wish I would have hired Dr. Belcher first! He is very straightforward and explains everything in basic terms. I highly recommend Attorney John Christopher Belcher. He did an outstanding job representing me during a long, bitter, and painful divorce. My husband and I were fighting over custody of our minor daughter, distribution of marital property, alimony, and child support. There were allegations of domestic violence, adultery, and desertion. As you can imagine, things got pretty ugly and it was a very tense and stressful period for me. There were times when I got discouraged and wanted to throw in the towel and give my husband whatever he wanted. But, Mr. Belcher and his very capable staff (Mia and Heba) were there for me, every step of the way, providing sound legal advice, encouragement, and a sympathetic ear. It took about a year for my divorce to become final and overall, I was very pleased with the manner in which Mr. Belcher handled my case. He was thorough, well prepared, and always prompt about returning my phone calls and emails. Mr. Belcher was also very knowledgable about Maryland's divorce laws and was an experienced and impressive litigator during the trial. In the end, Mr. Belcher secured a successful outcome for me and the judge awarded me everything that I asked for plus a little bonus__my husband was required to reimburse me for my legal fees! How sweet is that? It is an understatement to say that I could not have chosen a better attorney to represent me. Mr. Belcher was a godsend; my guardian angel and I will forever be grateful to him for helping me to close this very painful chapter in my life. I came across Mr. Belcher’s website while hopelessly searching online for a replacement attorney to handle my divorce case. I was in the middle of a long drawn out divorce and not satisfied with the services I was receiving from the current attorney. I was impressed after reading about Mr. Belcher’s background and immediately wanted him to represent me. Mr. Belcher not only knew the case laws that governed each issue, but would also show me exactly where it was coming from. Mr. Belcher treated me as a partner in my divorce case and would often provide several courses of action and then highlight the worst case scenario of each; I felt he had my best interest at heart. Creditable, Inventive, Persistent... Dr. Belcher knows the law. An excellent all around lawyer and he always stays on top of your case. When you are worried, he is planning his strategy, when you are resting he is working. Dr. Belcher is incredible. I had the pleasure of Dr. Belcher representing me in my criminal case where I was charged with Arson and Burglary. I had 10 counts against me The final verdict was a hung jury with the 5th count not guilty. The case is set for a retrial, but if we do go back believe me he is well prepared. During the trial he stays on top of the matter and its scary. He knows exactly what the prosecutor is thinking.... Why??? because he use to be one for a great number of years. Im thankful for him being my lawyer, and believe me when I say this he is an all around athlete who is in phenomenal shape. I highly recommend Dr. Belcher. You can trust him and believe me his hourly rate is affordable. When you need a criminal defense lawyer, Dr. Belcher is the one to choose. In 2007 my significant other was charged with Accessory after the fact to murder. He retained an attorney whom we later realized was looking out for the best interest of the prosecutors, but not before this attorney was able to persuade him to take a plea bargain. After years of court continuances and him being rejected by the job force we decided that we had to do something and that is where Mr. Belcher stepped in. Mr. Belcher quickly realized after reviewing the evidence in the case or lack thereof that my significant other had been taken for a ride by the judicial system Belcher quickly reacted to his findings to vindicate a good man with no reservation. Lets just say that 3 years of getting the runaround was put to rest almost immediately after Mr. Belcher came into the picture. Now my family is able to move on with our lives and my significant other will be able to have this charge expunged from his record. There was no conviction and Mr. Belcher was able to do this regardless of the plea bargain that was entered almost 3 years prior. Mr. Belcher is a godsend and I would refer him to anyone that I know, he is honest, humble, diligent, committed to his clients and treats them with the utmost respect. I am so glad that he came into our lives when he did or the story may have ended a little differently.

Mr. Belcher is an excellent lawyer who represented me in a landlord tenant case. He understands all aspects of the law and utilizes it well to represent clients in cases. I would definitely refer him to anyone who is in need of a lawyer.

Dr. Belcher is an amazing attorney. He is very well educated and extremely intelligent. He represented me in a family law case, a breach of contract case, and a defamation case all in the Circuit Court for Howard County. I am very pleased with his services.
