After my husband got severely injured while in Afghanistan, we were lost at how to navigate through the complicated claims process with the VA. Doing this alone brought only pain and frustration. Once I decided to seek reliable assistance with my husband's VA claim I found Bergmann & Moore. At the first telephone call I knew we were at the right place. Their team has been with us for everything over the years. They pointed out the evidence in the very large file to VA and got my husband not only his deserved rating but also further ensured my husband received the appropriate SMC levels as well. I found Bergman and Moore very helpful in getting me rated at 100% I was at 10% and was turned down time and time again by the VA for Anxiety due to PTSD. I received a notice from Bergman and Moore stating they had found descrepancies in the VA rating, and said they would take my case at no cost to me if they lost. Talked it over with my wife and we both agreed nothing to lose. One of the best decisions I ever made. I was kept informed of the progress of my case by my first case manager Samantha Walsh, I believe she received a promotion and her spot was taken by Emily Starobin, and she picked right up where Samantha had left off. Had many a conversation with Emily who always kept me abreast of what was going with my appeal. When she callled one day and said I was rated at 100% she sounded as happy as I. When I received a large back pay I thought they had put the comma in the wrong place. I made a call to Emily and she no Mr. Joyce the comma was put in the right place the monies are in your checking account to do with as you please. I was to, say the least flabbergasted, but it did have a down side with this Pandemic I have not been able to take many trips. On my last conversation with Emily she informed me that she was going to study Environmental Law, and was going for a degree. I felt so happy for her, although I have not met her face to face I feel as if I know her personally. She always acted in a polite, professional way and I am sure she will succeed in her chosen field. I am glad my case has been settled before she leaves the law firm. I am a veteran of the Vietnam War (1967) and like most, experienced situations that I will never forget. After many years having horrific thoughts and nightmares, I was informed from a friend that I could file a claim with the VA. Why wasn't I told this when I left the Army???? Well I did. No surprise, my claim was denied, my appeals were denied and I almost gave up. The American Legion recommended the Law firm of BERGMANN & MOORE to me. How do I say, "Hope is alive again." It's been 2yrs and still fighting to get what deserve I only got 10% for my lower back Still fighting for my PTSD I have been fighting with VA for almost 11 yrs I wish things would get done quicker
