I had the pleasure of working with Stuart Grozbean. Stu was a true gem. He would make himself available at all hours, he was completely supportive of my position, understood the stressors, exhibited wonderful listening and analytical skills, and made me feel heard and understood. It was not uncommon to hear from him early in the morning or late in the evening with updates on what was happening. I always felt included and consulted at every step along the process.
Just as importantly, he possesses a brilliant legal mind, and a professional network of colleagues and experts that he brought to bear on my case. It became clear very quickly how well respected he is within the legal circles, how effective he is as a negotiator, and how easily he maneuvers in very complex cases. His lack of egocentricity is also a very noticeable and welcomed trait! I highly recommend Stu for any issues where his areas of legal expertise would be needed. I will never be able to thank him enough!

Stu is responsive, confident and respected in the industry. He quickly analyzed my custody case and through his talented and unmatched negotiating skills, cleverly crafted a solution to reach a desired outcome for me. I wish I had known about him during my divorce. Stu not only knows the law, but he knows people and how to read them; which was key to my case. He and his entire team are extremely ethical and conscious of the dollars being spent. On top of all that you get his great sense of humor too, which is a breath of fresh air during such difficult times. I highly recommend him! Thank you, Stu!

I’ve worked with Belli, Weil & Grozbean one multiple occasions. Stuart is the beat attorney I’ve known. He’s tough as nails, fights for his clients and truly understand the law. The entire team is fantastic and I could not recommend their services more!

I hired Stu Grozbean after extensive research. The first time we spoke we was gracious, accommodating and did not charge me for the consultation. Over the past few years whenever I had any questions or needed advice Stu would get right back to me. (FYI, He prefers to be called Stu) He reaches out to me whether during the day, evenings, or weekends whenever I needed him. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a smart, aggressive lawyer, advocates tirelessly and who also uses common sense.

Alex and his firm helped me with my third party custody case where I needed to gain De Facto Parentage. With myself being the third party and up against the child’s biological parents. The outcome was fantastic and I was up to speed on everything happening the whole way, along with the guidance on what exactly to do! The whole firm was always there and responding super quickly to any and all questions I had. Alex himself is an amazing person and does what’s right! If you’re looking for a lawyer this is the place to go!

I'll forever regret my decision to hire Barbara Jorgensen as my divorce attorney. I am still suffering from the repercussions. My divorce should have been simple. My ex had a warrant out for his arrest due to a crime against a neighbor. He also had priors and had engaged in many actions causing great risk to me. I'd just been diagnosed with lifelong critical illness but this was pushed into taking on the impossible. The economy had collapsed and the property (that the ex was afraid to go near) was severely upside down in value. He wasn't contributing towards the property payments, and left me with an unmanageable number of expenses that were his responsibility. Barbara Jorgensen ignored all of these circumstances. She even told me that types of support other divorcees were successfully arranging did "not exist" and that his crimes and lack of financial contributions were somehow irrelevant to his demands for money that did not exist. While she may have advocated for her clients back in 1985, both her skills and focus were very outdated decades later. She was often outright condescending towards me as her client and kept confusing my account for another client's who was delinquent in payments. She also told me I had no choice but to continue with tasks and expenses for superfluous actions from my ex's attorney whereas in reality I could have walled away or ignored most of it. It was well known that the mess drained my savings and left me in a literal long-term trap. As a final display of not caring about her clients, she even sent a disruptive and embarrassing younger attorney to court the day my ridiculous divorce agreement was filed. I was leery of most of her decisions but was going off of Washingtonian Magazine's endorsements. This is not an attorney who will advise to your benefit. This is the type of lawyer who still believes that attorneys are automatically respected and assumed to be brilliant, thereby giving them the ability to make up rules and advice that their clients won't question. This may have been the case in 1985 but certainly wasn't by then. With the immature JGL junior attorney solidifying my overall impression, I've steered friends and colleagues away from this firm ever since.
