I have been a lecturer at a DC law school for many years. I know criminal defense attorney John Sharifi and am familiar with his work. He is on a short list of the very best trial and appellate lawyers in the Maryland-DC area. He is knowledgeable, ethical, dedicated, and, most important, he is a crackerjack at critical thinking and analyzing and helping to resolve complex criminal legal matters. If you need the best defense, I recommend him strongly.

We hired Mr. Sharifi to help with a young family member's probation violation. I was actually referred by a friend of a friend in the legal system. I am so glad I took that reference because what was supposed to be a cut and dry case ended up taking two hearings, convincing a judge to take on a different perspective, a lot of phone calls, emails, and coordination with several family members and private individuals. I reached out to Mr. Sharifi by email, and after an initial phone call, he provided a quote for services. I thought the price was fair- but after receiving the full legal service I realize it was more than fair! Mr. Sharifi took every single one of my phone calls. He answered every email and addressed every concern that anyone, including his client or family members had, from start to finish. He emphasized the importance of his client and family members having a clear understanding of the proceedings, decisions, options, consequences, and what information was needed. Nothing was too small to discuss, and he was a very hands on attorney! This attorney has heart. He has a good understanding of what the client wants and what the court needs to hear. He did not hesitate to reach out to any contact or resource he thought might help his client. It was apparent that Mr. Sharifi fosters relationships with everyone around him- the judge, attorneys, police officers, his client and their family members. He is thoughtful, direct, and he helped us "win" our case.

John has been excellent in handling my case from start to finish. From the time I contacted him and shared my need of representation, to when I had to walk out of the court room with a favorable verdict, he took the time to listen to everyone of my concerns, did all the research necessary and came prepared with a few strategies. He was very thorough at explaining what the worse case scenario would be and what we would have to do if that was the case. He was straight up and did set the right expectations. His arguments were strictly based on his knowledge of the law. Thanks to his expertise and soft skills, I was able to have this case hanging over my head for a long time dropped in a matter of minutes. I would definitely recommend him for hire in a heart beat.
