Attorney Schipani was so helpful and patient I cannot say enough. Not only did he help me sort out a complicated business situation I did not understand, but also had additional ideas about how to protect myself and save money in the future. I felt like he really knew his stuff, and more importantly, really cared about my small business. Wonderful experience.

Working with Christine Carey was an absolute pleasure. Christine helped me with reviewing all the documents from my investor, the two different transfer agreements created by my franchisor for the purchase of two additional territories and the seller's note from one of the territories I purchased. She also helped me creating the two asset purchase agreements. Throughout the process, I had tight deadlines that she diligently met providing me with the right amount of information for me to make good business decisions.
I look forward to working with her again.

Tempus Fugit Law
I recently contacted Tempus Fugit Law because I learned that they handle cases of Tenant/Landlord disputes. My partner and I moved into our apartment less than three years ago. Over our time living here our hot water has gone out seven times. We had to beg for heat when it began getting cold last year. Our bathtub backed up three times after one of us would take a shower and it would take the water an inordinate amount of time to go down. We also had a leak under our kitchen sink. The first time I reported the bathtub problem to our landlady she told me to get a plumber and to pay for it. As luck would have it I have a friend who is a plumber. When he came to snake the bathtub drain he asked me why I was paying him and not the landlord. I explained to him that the landlady had told me to get a plumber and for me to pay for it. My plumber friend told me that that is illegal, adding that it’s the landlord’s responsibility to pay for a plumber. Where the hot water is concerned, the third time I called the landlady to tell her that we once again did not have hot water, she replied to me in a very nasty tone, “What does that mean, Christopher???” I told her that it means exactly what I had just said, that we again had no water, adding that this was the third time since we moved in that this has happened and that we needed to take showers. Instead of apologizing the landlady said, in a most sarcastic tone, “But don’t we always fix the problem, Christopher? My response to that was, “Yes, but this should not happen so often.” To that she made no response.
Two weeks ago the landlady was here with her husband supervising repairs that were once again being made in the basement. She herself had had the hot water and heat turned off in order to make whatever repairs were needed. As luck would have it, two of the other tenants in the building had called 311 and an inspector was there the same say the landlady was there with her husband. The 311 inspector explained to me that they sent someone right away this time, rather than within three days, because the list of complaints against the building is so long and dates way back, which he showed me on his tablet.
While I and the 311 inspector were talking about the landlady in the hallway she and her husband overheard us. Hearing this the landlady’s husband began cursing me out and even making threats of physical violence against me. Sadly I didn’t think to take out my cell phone and film him while he was ranting his threats at me. But I do thank God that the 311 inspector was a witness to the entire exchange.
It was after all this that I contacted Tempus Fugit Law, because I saw, after having done extensive research that the law firm handles Tenant/Landlord disputes. I felt that with all the stress and anxiety that I and my partner had suffered over all the issues in the apartment and then to have the landlady’s husband threaten me with physical violence that they would definitely take on our case to sue the landlady for constant negligence, her harassing behavior and of course her husband’s threats of violence against me. I had called the firm over the weekend and left a voicemail message. I was called back that week by an intern who took all my information. We were on the phone for just over 40 minutes. When we were done he told me that within a few days someone from the firm would be in touch with me.
After I hadn’t heard anything from the firm for a few days I decided to call the intern and see where my case was at. He told me had passed all my information along to them a few days ago after we had spoken and told me he would follow-up and call me back.
When the intern called me back he told me, in a nutshell that the firm would rather represent landlords and not tenants. Needless to say I was very disappointed by this, seeing as I had spent over 40 minutes detailing all the issues with my landlady and in the end it was a total waste of time. Of course I will pursue this case with another firm, but I would not recommend Temper Fugit Law at all.
