I am a landlord. Attorney Sherwin helped me get rental assistance for one of my renters. Before we hired Attorney Sherwin, my renter and I applied for rental assistance July 29, 2021. After months of waiting patiently, hearing nothing from the RAA, I started to follow up. I emailed the RAA. I called the RAA. I actually went to the RAA's office and rang the doorbell. The RAA finally replied and said we hadn't uploaded all the required documentation. (We definitely did!) The RAA told us to go to the back of the line and reapply. (We definitely would not!) I asked for Attorney Sherwin's help. He wrote legal letters to the RAA that sent them into panic. Suddenly my renter and I were getting called back and emailed night and day. The RAA had changed their tune! They assured us that our application was being processed and would be approved. It’s true! On February 25, our application was approved! After I had given up getting help, Attorney Sherwin recovered enough rental assistance for us to repay his fee 18x.
