I contacted Mr. LeCesne about a complex environmental matter with a long history and multiple players. They’d run this scam in other states, and appear to have the support of our local and state-capital officials. The matter has potentially enormous implications for my area’s public health, economic future, and collective identity. But it’s not happy news, and it’ll be a tough sell. Regardless, I’ve invariably found Mr. LeCesne to be direct and succinct, not to mention a gifted teacher. You get the sense he’s up-front with everyone — and by disciplined force of habit. He renders the law comprehensible, even approachable, and that alone inspires hope. He also seems adept at balancing his various professional obligations, thus ensuring that each client has sound counsel while it can still help. Long before I resolved to hire him, Mr. LeCesne was attentive, patient, knowledgeable and shrewd. His approach is unfailingly methodical, which keeps the discourse efficient. And just as important as his command of the material — and his willingness to retest every assumption for gaps or flaws — was his courteous self-confidence. Not only is Mr. LeCesne a first-class ” ’Brain’ with a capital ‘B’ ”; he’s also a lawyer in the grand tradition. Time and again, I’ve found myself feeling impressed — not only by his forbearance and mores, nor even by the apparent strength and latitude of his legal expertise, but by his flair for parsing tradeoffs in terms anyone can grasp. He’ll frame a basic case, then proceed to map its prospective risks and options, all the while with discernment, speed and horse sense. So far as I could tell, too, Mr. LeCesne has never hesitated to speak up when I got lost in the weeds, or had strayed too far with some digression. Even so, he has a rare capacity for “filing things away,” indexing such details and tangents lest they might prove critical at some future juncture. The man inspires confidence as if born to it. No doubt, more than one courthouse has held its collective breath watching him “take [his opponent] to the mat.” Brilliant, savvy and discerning, he strikes me as a reluctant moralist: one whose integrity just won’t quit. Nor, I strongly suspect, will his passion for the law. Adrien LeCesne is probably as good as it gets. Clearly he’s for real — and a gem. I thank my lucky stars that my offhanded message through an affiliate found its way to Adrien’s learned eyes and ears.

Adrian responded very promptly and spent a lot of time explaining and giving me insight on an issue we had with a company we hired.
