She told me that she charges $225/hr because she works out of her home and therefore does not need to charge the rates that the expensive firms from Boston charge. Two letters without stepping out of her home and no case law to draw from in her research of the case. A total of 11.5 hours, total cost: $2,475.00 and that was with 1 hour free (case review). In hindsight I think I will choose one of the expensive Boston attorneys I worked with over the past few months, they are smarter and get things done quickly. Even at the $375.00/hr they still would have been a lot less expensive. When I discussed this particular case with one of the Boston attorneys he cited case law right off the top of his head; no charge.
