We recently worked with Devlin through the mediation process, and in doing so had a great experience with him. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, impartial, timely, and extremely meticulous with detail. This consequently ensured our full understanding of the process and that we had completed everything appropriately. We highly recommend Devlin as a great resource for mediation!

Valerie is an extremely talented mediator with superb communication skills. She keeps her clients well informed of what is to be expected in terms of creating a separation agreement and preparing for court. She is professional, even in sticky situations, and has a great sense of humor, which is helpful in difficult times. The Valley is lucky to have Valerie as a resource and I highly recommend her.

Valerie is a highly knowledgeable and accomplished attorney, reasonable and committed to her client - while keeping deeply in mind the context, i.e. the spouse and the family. She enabled for our divorce to happen smoothly and timely, I could not be more grateful for her perceptive and dedicated approach.

I am very thankful that we used Attorney Botter for mediation during our divorce. She was very organized, knowledgeable, compassionate, fair, professional and very comforting during this obviously difficult process. Especially during the Pandemic. She "does not take sides" during mediation but rather wants to ensure a fair outcome for her client(s). I would unequivocally recommend her many years of legal expertise combined with a very comforting demeanor to anyone who is seeking legal counsel for mediation/divorce.

Attorney Valerie Botter has represented me in a very difficult negotiated modification of some of the terms of my divorce. What has made her work exceptional are her settlement skills. From the very first meeting I was impressed by her knowledge of the law and her acuity in using and expressing her knowledge so that a fair and just agreement could be articulated and then reached. Her diplomacy skills are superb, in that it is clear that she knows the law and what is and is not acceptable in reaching a settlement. This saves much time in having both parties come to an acceptable consensus in finalizing an agreement. Other attorneys greatly respect Attorney Botter. They recognize her skills and knowledge and therefore posturing and frivolous strategies by the other attorney can be dispensed with. Attorney Botter is very personable and understanding of how difficult a divorce and/or family law situation can be. I felt very well “held” and supported by her kindness and empathy. Attorney Botter came highly recommended by a very respected mediation lawyer who knew of her skills in coming to a settlement. Attorney Botter was clear and articulate in her discussion of my situation. Her communication with me in person, by phone, zoom and email was always prompt, clear and to the point. Her writing is excellent in both her communication and in the final document. Attorney Botter uses her knowledge of the law to write the final agreement so that it is clear and well understood, and legally sound. For background I am a professional and there are many attorneys in my family and that I know. I have had personal and professional experience with several attorneys in the past. I therefore feel that I have had the experiential knowledge to state how well Attorney Botter stands out as an attorney of exceptional skills, compassion and the ability to reach a settlement/agreement that is fair and correct in a timely and efficient matter. I have never had to second guess Attorney Botter’s recommendations, which for me is quite a statement. Her fees and billing are fair and due to her efficiency, quite appropriate. I recommend and hold her skills in the highest regard.

Atty. Botter is an incredibly organized and efficient lawyer and her settlement skills are on point. Her expertise of divorce law is exceptional and she gave sound advice, even if it wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear. She handled my case with the utmost respect for both parties which I appreciated and was able to navigate me through one of the most trying times of my life. I whole heartily recommend Atty. Botter to anyone that is looking for an unflappable, exceptionally competent and compassionate lawyer. She will see you through to the other side and know that you will be represented by a highly regarded and skillful lawyer that you deserve.

Valerie represented me during a marathon 3 1/2 year custody/removal litigation that culminated in a 4 day trial. The court ultimately ruled in my favor, and I attribute that directly to Valerie. She was meticulous, thorough, highly skilled, responsive, and most importantly, not afraid to point out my blind spots, and help me put the children's interest first when by its very nature, litigation can obscure judgement. I highly recommend her without reservation.

Valerie Botter is a highly respected, experienced attorney who has represented clients in Western Massachusetts for 30 years. She is ethical, diligent, caring, and doesn’t promise results that she can’t deliver. She’s very tuned into children’s needs whose parents are divorcing, and educates her clients about how to keep the children’s needs in the forefront and support their relationship with the other parent. After many years of successful trials, Valerie is now focusing on mediation and collaborative negotiation. I have a lot of respect for Valerie and always feel confident referring clients to her.

Attorney Botter has represented and advised me through an unfortunately acrimonious divorce with an admirable amount of compassion and composure. She has been kind and supportive, but also honest and forthright. I never had to worry that I was being misled or promised more than was realistic. She is thorough, detailed, and diligent about her work, incredibly efficient with her time, and fair with her rates. Attorney Botter's talents shine brightest when tasked with bringing parties together to reach a compromise that works for everyone. While I hope to never need her services in the future, I have, and will continue to recommend her to friends when they are in need of representation or mediation.

Unprofessional at best. Unethical. Documented untrue statements with strong cognitive bias. Unable to be objective, lacks skill or energy or desire needed to evaluate child health, safety, wellness. Unable to suspend personal opinions necessary to do her job as a child’s attorney. Demeaning and rude which all distracts from the most important thing; which was to protect the child.

Devlin is a terrific mediation lawyer and professional who I regularly refer couples to for mediation and collaborative divorce. I run a center for couples therapy and his practice is our go-to referral for many reasons. He is super smart and many couples I have referred to him have remarked on his warmth, fairness and professionalism in tough situations. We are lucky to have a mediation professional of this caliber in our Valley. Also he is just a really nice guy, not intimidating but effective.
