I was hit by a Tractor Trailer on the I95, it was an overwhelming and scary experience. Never having needed a lawyer before, I found the Law Office of John J. Strazulla. I received representation from Attorney Strazulla and can say I am very pleased. As I recovered from the accident, Attorney Strazulla handled everyting else-including the insurance companies, legal issues, doctors bills....everything. I've been a firefighter since 1995 and gave it everything I had. Sadly I was injured in the line of duty at a working fire. I was thrown from an over pressurized large diameter hose and severely injured. Two surgeries and multiple procedures later, I am left with chronic pain. I'm alive and I'm thankful. When you get hired in a civil service job they tell you you're protected and if you get hurt, will have a pension. What they don't tell you is when you get to the retirement system they do their best to not give you any benefits whatsoever. After I was hurt the city claimed I had a pre-existing condition. Outrageous. My pre-existing condition was being 51 years old and 20 years of service on the job. I suffered other injuries in the past, all documented and recorded.. Still the city fought me. After this severe, on duty injury, they fought me. They first filed a "duty injury" pension THEN switched it mid stream to a regular pension. Big difference in benefits. They then told me I could appeal it. This was a very stressful time having had two surgeries in one year and I was really at a loss because I lost my career. A career which gave me such Joy. I like helping people. Now that had been taken away. A fellow attorney recommended Attorney Gray. I had other recommendations but I cannot tell you how pleased I was with my retaining Attorney Morgan Gray. He's the chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Social Security/Public Employee Retirement Practice Group. . very knowledgeable of municipal retirement systems for the Commonwealth and cities. I did some reading on case law and once it goes to the retirement system all bets are off and you need representation. The physicians that work for the state will make arbitrary statements and try to be really duplicitous in their actions. These Dr's do not work for the patients, they work for the state. I cannot stress enough, how much you really need to be represented by an attorney. Attorney Morgan Gray attended several retirement board meetings and really was impressively authoritative and knowledgeable in the scope of his work. He explained the whole process and was reassuring. I have one child and I was worried that as my beneficiary she would get the benefits that she deserved. Remember to look out for your own future and in hiring Attorney Gray you will be the making the best decision for your future pension.
