Well, I am currently being represented by John Brinkman in a criminal case involving Domestic violence. One thing that really sticks out is that he very RARELY keeps you informed on your case or returns calls. He has been representing me for about 2 months now and I have called him to discuss my case before trial over 20 times trying to reach him... I have only spoken to him 2 times over the phone. I can understand that attorneys can be busy, especially since he also works for the state as a public defender, but that should not mean that you neglect ANY of your clients.
A good thing about John is that he does seem to know what he is doing... Even if he does not tell you what he is doing or keep you informed on anything going on at all. He walks around with this "air" about him that most "big-shot" lawyers do, but that can be a good thing because you need confidence in your defense. but at the same time you should not have that smug approach when you're addressing (or not addressing) you clients.
All-in-all... id give John a 5/10 review... He does his job, but he isnt very "client friendly" or available.
