Absolutely horrible lawyer used my 3000$ retainer and sent another lawyer for my first court date a year later. Set up 2 phone calls and couldn’t make either on time and had her office call and cancel. Then asked for more money after her associate lost my financial statement. I hired her not someone else! It was an uncontested divorce. Buyer beware!!!

Rachel was a very good attorney. Answering very quickly whenever I reached out about my case. She was very dedicated to get me the results I was looking for and went into court with with a positive attitude every time. This is just a consumer review, with absolutely no intentions of causing damages or defamation to anyone's character. Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with Attorney Matos. As a consumer, I feel like as was robbed and lie to. To start, she never filed in court a motion that was the most important document for my case, the main reason why I hired her, and the first thing she had promised to do during our $250 initial consultation, right before I paid her first retainer of $5,000. Attorney Matos never contacted any of the collaterals, that could certainly have helped my case, although I had signed release forms with all of them to speak to her. She never responded to my emails, or followed up with important information that was provided to her. Attorney Matos did not return my phone calls, but certainly billed me for every call I made to her office, sometimes crying and begging for updates, over and over, without any response from her. Attorney Matos and I never spoke prior to court dates, because she never returned my calls, therefore I never knew what to expect, how much work, if any, she had done to prepare, or what she had planned to say in court. Attorney Matos withheld, or failed to reveal, important information to the judge that again, would have made all the difference on my case, and told me to stay quiet every time I tried to speak the truth. I believe that her lack of professionalism negatively affected my case right from the beginning. We of course lost the case, for my side of the story was never heard. When her secretary called and asked for another retainer of $2,500 to continue representation, I told her that Attorney Matos still had not completed all the work that she had promised, had not returned my calls, and I still had many questions for her. Attorney Matos responded to it by emailing me a motion to withdraw, which I was glad to sign, but she felt the need to remind me that it would cost me more money if I didn't. After, she still wrote an email saying that I lied to the courts, which was never the case, I never lied to her or to the judge, or anyone. I was, however, robbed from the opportunity to have my truth being heard, and Attorney Matos still tried to blame me. The negative impact that the way Attorney Matos handled my case has had, especially on my children, is the reason why I write this review. This should not repeat with other clients.

Attorney Matos was a breath of fresh air! I’ll do my best to summarize my great experience in as few paragraphs as possible. As in most probate cases, I was dealing with a very toxic situation which extended beyond just scheduling issues with my child. Matos was able to settle this situation using her vast knowledge and experience in her field which provided me with what I believe the best possible outcome. Although I have a long road ahead of me, I am confident to say I will get the fairest and most favorable outcome with having Matos’ representation. I’d rate her 100/100 stars if google allowed it. It should also be noted that her staff at her office go above and beyond to provide excellent service.
