Not long after I received a modification trial judgment in my daughter and my favor, issues continued to accumulate with my coparent. I consulted with Sasha Khan on an hourly basis at first to attempt to jointly modify a parenting schedule and save some money by mutually agreeing with my coparent. That did not last long and my family was faced with a mountain of financial, continued alienation attempts, child neglect investigations with DCF, and parenting schedule issues that we needed to turn to the court for intervention as opposed to mutual agreement. I again retained "my lawyer" Sasha from O'Connor Family Law ;-). This time, as opposed to a modification, I was filing a complaint for contempt, which I hadn't dealt with prior. The process is different than the modification trial, but from the start Sasha laid out options and expectations for me. She informed me what powers the court has and the discretion that they can exercise them based on the findings of the court. My family’s story is a long one, but we went through several hearings each with findings in my family's favor, and at the end of it my family received a judgement finding my coparent guilty of contempt of court, yet again reducing parenting time, award of my attorney fees, and increase in child support with acknowledgement of the near $16,000 in unpaid medical, dental, and extracurricular activities that was put on an enforceable payment schedule. Sasha is a calm, reliable, honest, knowledgeable, cost conscious, and quick on her heels lawyer. She knows my family's situation very well and if you are in the situation of having a complicated matter that you need to wade through, call Sasha and go back for every need your family may have. Sasha was the lawyer that brought me back to the firm, but another aspect of the firm I have to champion is their choice to bring in their high conflict relationship coach - Stacey Beal. This is an excellent role, that really sets the firm apart. Family law is highly emotional, and I can only speak for myself, but a lawyer is best to handle the law and legal strategy not be your therapist. Stacey was excellent, she handled all my calls and texts about my stressful situations and predicaments no matter if it was after hours, or while she was at her own kids sports event. She is a fantastic listener and offers a lot of advice that can help someone in a high conflict scenario to clarify their perspective. Overall - O'Connor Family Law is absolutely fantastic and I would recommend them over and over again. I thank the firm from the bottom of my heart.
