Cynthia represented me with college education matters. She advocated for my education accommodations when COVID was at its peak and classes moved to Zoom. Cynthia worked in making the college accountable for their lack of student resources. Cynthia worked diligently and was always available to listen to my concerns throughout the duration of the case via phone and email. Cynthia also helped in another education matter regarding a college course grading calculation. Cynthia again showed her caring nature and commitment in advocating for what is right. Cynthia worked to get the college to answer questions and provide a more detailed course grade calculation. Cynthia is an experienced and knowledgeable attorney that I would highly recommend to anyone with education law matters. Thank you again for all your hard work.

We hired her to write a demand letter which was not replied to. I had to email her 4 times before I found out that the letter was not replied to. I sat around for months wondering what was going on. I was always polite to her but she rarely replied to email or phone calls. When I finally got a hold of her she said she shredded my file because she had not heard from me. $2,000 in the toilet.

She’s very rude. She called to talk to me while in court - I could tell she was in public, in a rush, and then the connection cut and I never heard from her again. Didn’t care to follow up - but don’t expect your case to have any privacy if you choose her as a lawyer.

I am a year late writing this, but better than never. Cynthia and I connected the first day we met. I showed up with piles of paper works and tons of missing gaps. My grandchild was under DCF custody and I struggled to get custody. I was not able to get any direct answer why i was denied or not considered placement. I felt after a year of trying It was a good idea to get a lawyer. Cynthia was the first lawyer i connect and she took the case knowing she would be jumping in the middle. The end result came in our favor, it was not a easy journey but she advocated for us and kept her faith that we would make it. Thank you Cynthia for taking our case and fight a good fight. You are forever in our hearts.

I met with Cynthia back in late November to explain my case which at the time was going to take place in family court. She explained to me that this was her speciality so I hired her. The following day I was arrested and charged with a more serious crime. A crime where I would need a experienced trial lawyer. We agreed over the phone since other then the initial $150 consultation fee I paid her, she would give me a full refund of the money I paid her because she never did any work on my behalf. I didn't hear from her for almost 2 weeks so I contacted her by email and she said my check was on her desk ready to be mailed out. That was the last time she contacted me for another month. Fortunately I was able to hire another lawyer but I definitely could of used the money I paid her to pay him as he was much more expensive the she was due to the nature of the crime. I tried contacting her several times whether it be over the phone, email, text and I even stopped by her office to see if maybe something happened. I didn't hear back till January 10th because I sent her a certified letter threatening to take her to court and as well as report her to the board of overseers. The board of overseers is the disciplinary board in Massachusetts for attorneys if you want to file a complaint. Only at that point did she send me a letter letting me know I should be receiving a the check in a few days. At that point after still not getting my money back, I emailed her and said I would be filing a formal complaint to report her behavior with the bar of overseers in Boston. Even though every email I sent her was non threatening and basically just said to her I would like my money back and we can move on, she still had the nerve to send me a threatening email saying if I didn't stop harassing her she was going to contact my probation officer and get me in trouble. About a week after I contacted the bar of overseers to file a complaint, she FINALLY sent me back my refund in full. In all honestly my intentions were never to take it this far and I am sorry it had to come to this point. But I should have to go this far to get my money back from a woman that I initially hired to represent me. I made that very clear to her but it was almost like she just didn't seem to care. Her excuse for not contacting me was because she was supposedly sick. I hired her in late November and she finally returned my check on February 2nd. I received a call from the board and even though I told them she sent me my money back, they are still going to be looking into my claim. Good.

Cynthia E. MacCausland is a knowledgeable and patient attorney. We would have been lost without her. My son is going through a very rough time in the area of child visitation and support and when we got off the phone with her we felt like a giant weight had been lifted. She really knows her stuff and we are so fortunate to have found her.

Cynthia MacCausland successfully represented me, last (and part of this) year, when my (now ex-) wife and I parted company. Although there were certainly some scary moments, along the way, Cynthia maintained a steady hand throughout, and saw to it that my needs and rights were well covered. If you find yourself in similar straits and need someone to both guide you through the rocky waters kf a divorce and stand up for your rights, I would wholeheartedly recommend her, without reservation. She may not always appear to be your friend in the process, and if you have challenges like mine, you may not always see eye-to-eye with her on every issue. But when push came to shove, and we all appeared before the judge, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had one of the finest lawyers imaginable, sitting there, by my side, and protecting me in ways I had never imagined, before. I can't thank her enough!

Cynthia E. MacCausland is a very reliable lawyer. For someone (me) who has never had to go to court or in my case deal with a custody battle, I found Cynthia and completely had to just trust that she would take my matter and my values in her hands. She did just that, she made me and my family feel so welcome and comfortable. Anytime we needed to contact her and discuss any issues whether it be through phone or email she would always respond. What's great is she is an as needed lawyer with a flat fee so you can choose when you need her services. Overall she is a wonderful lawyer and for as long as I need assistance we I will be using her services.

Working with Cynthia has been beneficial for myself and my husband. We have no background or knowledge of all of what is involved regarding our granddaughter. Without her support so many questions and issues would've left us feeling helpless. We can rely on Cynthia to keep us up to date and informed. We would highly recommend her services especially because of her compassion and empathy.
