We had only minimal contact with Gerard and his team throughout the process. He didn't bother us with any of the details of the process that we didn't absolutely need to know (title report, title insurance selection, etc.) Some buyers will likely prefer this approach. We would have preferred more visibility and more detailed updates throughout the process. However, we're not reducing our review score as we could have (and didn't) ask for more details or updates. When it came to closing Gerard was very helpful in walking us through the process and making sure we focus primarily on those documents that really matter. He kept the closing process from feeling like an endless continuum of signing random documents.

Gerard was our attorney for 2 property sales in 2020: a 1031 swap to sell a condo, and then to buy a 3-family house. His property law expertise was immediately apparent in the 1031 sale, where he elected to assist the buyer's attorney to keep the transaction on schedule. Our subsequent purchase was complicated by needing a Certificate of Occupancy to bring the 2-fam house to a legal 3-fam; an unlicensed bathroom in the property; sellers who became renters post-sale; and COVID-19 related delays in data handling.
