Shannon is amazing. Not sure how Jennifer Crumbley retained her as she turns away 90-95% of all who seek her. At first, she annoyed me with all her objections but I came to realize a woman's life and freedom is on the line and Shannon is just actively fighting for her client. She is supportive, wise, logical, professional and a go getter. Ethan's parents should never have been charged. Did they miss some signs, yes? My mom missed many signs when I was being abused but I'm not blaming her. If they are found guilty, parents everywhere will be charged with "crimes." The prosecution is reaching. Shannon is right on top of it all. Her objections are right on point and the judge seems to agree. I feel sorry for the victims and their families but this mom and dad didn't do wrong. All parents miss cues. The school seems more responsible than the parents as mandated reporters. I'd hire her in a heartbeat. Shannon was hot in the closing compared to clown Karen McDonald. I can't believe people actually elected the clown Karen McDonald for prosecutor. She just loves to ruin families.

Shannon is great and helped me through a time of sheer panic. Her knowledge, strategy, raport with the police, solid communication skills, and strong organization was a critical factor in me not even being charged. I would strongly recommend Shannon to anyone in a similar situation.

Shannon was truly a blessing in my family’s most tremulous time.
I was falsely accused of sexual assault through both local police and my university. Being in a state of complete distress, suffering from PTSD (police removal), and the weight of what was at stake – Shannon was able to calm not only myself but my entire family.
As I was never charged – Shannon was proactive in every area. We made sure that all evidence of false claims was laid out in the most basic terms. Friends were talked to, social media interactions were combed, and lie detector tests were taken. Shannon knew every area to cover and made sure it was done promptly and professionally.
Her knowledge of local law enforcement officials and connections allowed us to learn of any new or pending updates as well as prepare proper work.
In regards to the university – due to the poor review system in place Shannon was unable to act as my speaker for my “trial.” However, Shannon worked with school advisors on being allowed by my side during the hearing as well as coaching me on what needed to be said and helping lay out my ideas, evidence, and testimonials.
Due to all of Shannon’s great work and patience the truth came to light as I was never charged with any crime and the university unanimously found me innocent in relation to student code violations.

Shannon Smith did an outstanding job at determining a plan and preparing for the hearing. She knows the law in this particular area very well and was able to win each argument against the prosecutor during the hearing. I was lucky to find her and glad I hired her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon this year and I'm so glad I did. Not happy about the circumstances of how we had met but I'm glad it was her and not anybody else. She really took the time to really get to know me and my family and took a real interest in hearing what we had to say. You could tell her heart just went out for us and our situation which helped me and my whole family to keep calm and less stressed threw the whole process. The case only went so far as an investigation and the detective never even bothered to send it to the prosacuter. I know that was the work of Shannon and how well respected she is by the authority's and them respecting her and her judgements on who she chooses to take on as clients. She never for a second stopped fighting for us and never gave me any doubt that it would go any further. Her reviews was the #1 thing that helped us to find such an amazing attorney. She saved our loved one from going away for possibly a long time being away from his children and family and that its self is enough to say she is #1 in my opinion. She has the heart for the job she's a mother her self so she knows the hurt and pain your going threw. I think that maybe helps her to try to see herself in our shoes and is what helps her to fight so much harder for your loved one. Shannon your the greatest and I can never tell you enough THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.

I hired Shannon Smith to be my attorney on my CPS case. There were allegations of abuse from a close family member to one of my children. The case was a nightmare but Shannon help me through this nightmare. She was aggressive and did not let CPS walk all over me. She fought long and hard for me and was very thorough. She save me from losing my children. Shannon was always there to answer any questions I had any time I had them. She was my rock! I don't know where I would be today had it not been for Shannon's awesome work that she did. I would highly recommend Shannon to anybody dealing with child protective services. Oakland County CPS is terrible but Shannon help me through dealing with this agency and the terrible people that we had on our case that were very aggressive, however Shannon was more aggressive than they were. She makes everything understandable and walks you through it hand-in-hand. She's compassionate and has a passion for what she does. She is a fighter and the best attorney to have on your side.

When my daughter sustained an injury from an accident, we took her to the emergency room. My husband and I found ourselves in the middle of a parent's worst nightmare. We were wrongfully accused and investigated for child abuse regardless of another child explaining the injury. Unlike the criminal justice system, parents essentially have no rights. Good parents are treated guilty until proven innocent and their children are traumatized and torn from their homes. They threatened to take our children from us and planned to take us to court. We immediately looked for an attorney and did some research. We found Shannon Smith. She is amazing!!! Shannon is totally devoted to her clients. She is very approachable and energetic. She is strategic, knowledgeable about the system, and the perfect balance. We followed her advice exactly and everything worked out to our benefit. During the most devastational event of my life, I felt confidence with Shannon on my team.

Shannon Smith helped my 18 year old nephew navigate sexual conduct charges against him. He was facing serious charges that would have resulted in significant prison time and a listing on the sexual offender registry for life. The legal process was comprehensive, assertive, and thoughtful. The judge presiding over the case was unaware of recent changes in the law reading youths and the implementation of the Romeo and Juliet statutes. Shannon was matter of fact and deftly guided the judge and prosecution with her excellent preparation for the case and due diligence. She saved our boy from an onerous sentence and a lifetime of stigmatization. I highly recommend Shannon's services, and completely respect the work she undertakes in bringing a fair end to the charges individuals face for youthful indiscretion. May she continue to have a remarkable career and I wish her the very best.

From the first day I met Shannon I knew she was the best fit for my case. Not only was she polite, courteous, and direct but she was a great listener. I met with Shannon after I had a preliminary examination with the attorney I hired prior to meeting Shannon. The first attorneys approach was to not draw attention to my case so that the prosecutor would not work on it. This was not the approach I wanted or needed. After realizing I was dealing with a lazy, know it all, I went on the hunt for a replacement. Upon my initial meeting with Shannon I knew right away she was the right attorney for me and my case, I retained Shannon the next day.
Being wrongfully accused I needed an attorney that would educate the prosecutor on the facts of the case so that they could see all of the missing pieces and start to see right through to the truth. Shannon did a great deal of research including meeting with witnesses on the prosecutions side. Shannon also took the time to get to know my family and I. Shannon was more like a best friend that would do anything to help out her best friend or family member. This strategy proved true once we got closer to the trial date. Shannon filed many motions and had several conversation exchanges with the prosecution. This prompted the prosecutor to meet with his witnesses again and ultimately dismiss the case.
It was clear the prosecutor saw through the false allegations and upheld the law by his action of dismissing the case.
I could write a book about Shannon! But in closing I’ll say this: Shannon Smith is a “real person” who really cares about her clients and the law. She is respectful and one of the smartest people I have met in my life. She knows the law well and I learned so much from her. Shannon and I worked closely, we talked at least 5 days a week. She was NEVER too busy to talk with me. All of this adds up to not only the best attorney in my opinion, but a genuine person as well.

Shannon called me on one of her busy days when she did not know me and took the time to introduce herself and listen. She then followed up with a 50 minute facetime interview over the phone and listened and gave her thoughts on a report she asked to review. Shannon took the time to reach out and discuss her thoughts on a case and did so on a weekend. That shows that she cares and is motivated to be knowledgeable about subject matter. I highly recommend talking to her for any needs you have for an attorney for her specialties.
