Hello fellow injured workers!!! My name is Alexander Watkins, And like you I was injured while at work in Michigan. I’m from Houston Texas and was working at a plant when a forklift driver carelessly hit me . Fast forward I was given the run around but so many other attorneys and law firms. Jeffrey E. Kaufman was absolutely superb in handling my case. The first lawyer I hired was unprofessional, incompetent, he lacked communication and did NOTHING with my case for over five (5) years before he decided to be a Quitter!. The Michigan Worker Comp Lawyers are an excellent choice if you are dealing with Worker's Compensation case. The Senior partner is Alex Berman who has over 35 years of experience in handling worker's compensation cases. Initially, I got upset that I felt I wasn't being kept up to date on my case. I will say they were down a member of their team with a medical issue. Once I voiced my concern to Alex that I needed to be kept in the loop of my case I was assigned a different attorney. I was appointed Jeff Kaufman, and he did an outstanding job keeping me in the loop of the case via emails or phone calls! Jeff went way above and beyond what was necessary of him to help bring my case to a close! Jeff showed real compassion to my situations the entire time dealing with my case and was able to bring to a close before losing my home and vehicle! He did work that should have been done by the opposing attorney to help speed up the closing of my case. I give their firm and Jeff a 5-star review and rating. Lastly, he offered for me to keep Intouch if I have any issues or other legal questions while now I go through my social security disability process which another firm is handling. I feel Like I formed a friendship with Jeff going through all of this. On another note not related to this firm but worker's compensation cases in general. It is a long process anywhere from 1-3 years I have heard of from others. The workers best intentions are not in mind of the opposing company. The independent medical examiners are a joke and only out to nail you and protect the company. They say whatever your comp company wants the to say in my opinion. It's a dirty corrupt system, and you only have big business and politicians to blame. Just Jeff and his firm they will protect you and be patient. Follow their advice, and I hope you come out also with a good settlement.

I had a work comp suit. I was having problems with my employers. I got two knee replacements and they were unwilling to help me. So I was looking for back pay from work and medical payment. I was injured in a car accident while I was on the job. I tried to handle my work comp by myself but it got too hard, because they started turning down my medical claims. So I got a work comp lawyer to help me - Jeff Kafuman. He was really nice and easy to get along with. He always got back with me with all of the answers I needed. Whatever medical bills that came to me, he told me to send to him and he would take care of them. It was really nice knowing he was there, so if there was something I needed, I could just call and ask. Jeff was very professional and helped a lot. He got me a settlement that I'm really happy with, especially considering workers comp didn't want to pay me anything.

Never once called to update me on the status of my case. Would ask me questions that HE should know the answe to, because I had told him in previous conversations. When I brought these things up, I was not offered an apology, instead, was given excuses, "Well, I deal with a lot of people." Inexcusable.
