I would recommend Dana, with Family Focus Law to anyone looking for a passionate family attorney. She is very knowledgeable and empathetic and just over all helpful. Adoptions can feel never ending however, she has always been so responsive and great at keeping us updated. Our little family is very grateful for her services.

Lawyers who attack Mothers & fathers of dead children don’t deserve to have a license.

My custody case was a nightmare at first. Filed without an attorney and got a temporary order by myself. Hired another law firm that was absolutely horrible! Decided to fire my attorney and retain Trish Haas after a year of no progress but major fees. Trish gave me amazing advice right away utilizing Friend of the Court services to help save me attorney fees and resolved my case very quickly. After unfortunately having worked with wrong attorneys in the past. I strongly recommend using this Law Firm they can save you lots of time and money!

Short version: my (now) ex-husband said he would hire Dawn if he could go back (he cannot). I always felt like I had the best attorney in the room. I’m satisfied that the best possible outcomes were achieved. She set realistic expectations and exceeded them time and again. Long version: Dawn represented me in a high-conflict divorce +custody. My case had a complex fact pattern and Dawn was on top of it at all times. Extremely professional and competent, Dawn was well respected and familiar with everyone who came into contact with my case (FOC referees, mediator, other attorneys, etc.). She understands the law and the environment she’s practicing in. She was supportive and very hands-on. I always understood the current status of my case, next steps, and current strategy. She didn’t take action without communicating with me. I understood the risks and opportunities with different actions and why specific choices were being made. I cannot emphasize enough that I have since learned this is not always the case with all attorneys. You do not want to be next to an unprepared, reactive attorney when your life and your family’s future is being decided. If you’re meeting with attorneys, ask them how they’ll make decisions and how you’ll know what’s happening in your case. Dawn always responded promptly to me (and others) and all communication, including motions and orders, was exceptionally written and well thought out. In-person, Dawn’s pre-work, preparation, and litigation experience were apparent. As I said, I was very satisfied with the outcome but, perhaps more importantly, during the process I didn’t feel like I was just along for the ride. I was able to feel confident that I was making the best decisions possible. The billing practices were transparent and very fair for the level of representation.

Both Ms. Prokepec and Ms. Haas are well known in the legal community for their zealous and professional representation of their clients. As an attorney myself, I would gladly hire either one of these women to represent me. It's difficult these days to find an attorney who can strike a balance between aggressive representation and compassion and understanding. These women are the real deal I'm proud to practice with them in this difficult field.
