I hired Marcus in December of 2023 and my case was finally concluded in May of 2024. I was initially scared about spending money on a lawyer and briefly considered saving the money and going with a court appointment attorney. Thank god I didn’t! Hiring Mr. Wilcox ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. He was always there to discuss things with me over the phone, and even visited me almost everyday that I was in jail until I bonded out. We met several times at his office where we sat down for hours and dissected my case. We went over police reports, studied dash cam evidence, and painstakingly went over every detail in my case to try and come up with the best resolution. He even went as far as to take some of the money I had paid him to hire another amazing lawyer to assist him in drawing up a motion to the court that ended up being my saving grace. I was originally facing 10+ years in prison. And now I’m doing 18 months of probation. I can’t say enough good things about Marcus. He almost always answered all my calls and if he didn’t he was sure to call me back very promptly. He always called me in the days leading up to my court dates to discuss our plan and as a friendly reminder of dates and times. If you’re looking for a good lawyer for you or your loved one, Marcus is your guy. He is a straight shooter, he won’t lie or sugarcoat things. He is going to help you fight, and he won’t let injustices of the police department or the courts slide. Thanks Marcus, I appreciate everything you’ve done for me!

Marcus is the hardest working attorney I have ever come across. He ALWAYS seems to be available to his clients. Whether it's phone calls, text messages, emails, he responds near instantaneously, all without the help of an assistant or paralegal (near as I can figure). You would think there's three of him! that trait makes him extremely reliable. Just one example(of many), I was at Michigan state police post in Brighton to have my fingerprints taken. Which had to be done before my next court date. This MSP post only had one day in the entire month where I could get my fingerprints taken. Long story short, I waited 2.5hours ate this MSP station, now its 12:45 and I have to be on MSU campus for an exam by 1:30.I didn't know if I should leave and risk repercussions from the court, or stay and risk failing my final exam. So, I called Marcus! half expecting expecting not to hear from him in time as I need to make a decision pronto. He called me back in 2 minutes. He reassured me everything was going to be okay, he would make a note that I attempted to get fingerprinted and there will be no repercussions from the court and he will make sure of it. I was able to go on and take my exam without a care in the world with my sole focus on my exam. It's things like that, that I really grew to respect about Marcus Wilcox. He could have three or four clients at a time and still put in the work on each case. He gives each client the time and attention they deserve, or at least want! He really helped guide me through, what is and hopefully remains my first snd only time dealing with this high-stress unforgiving justice system. I can say one thing for sure, in a string of bad decisions, hiring Marcus Wilcox was not one of them!

I regret to report that my experience with Wilcox has left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned about the integrity of the legal process in Livingston county. Throughout my case, I found Wilcox conduct to be unprofessional and potentially compromising to the principles of justice. On multiple occasions, Wilcox made inappropriate remarks regarding his personal relationships with the judge and prosecutor, implying a level of familiarity that raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest. Furthermore, he advised me to provide misleading information to the court, contradicting the facts documented in the police report. As a result, I feel compelled to express my disappointment and frustration with the handling of my case. Despite his assurances, I do not believe his actions resulted in a favorable outcome, and I am troubled by the disregard for ethical standards demonstrated throughout the process. In the interest of upholding the integrity of the legal profession and ensuring accountability for those entrusted with administering justice, I intend to report my concerns regarding Wilcox as well as the judge and prosecutor involved in my case, to the appropriate authorities. I have chosen to share my experience after careful consideration and reflection, and I hope that by doing so, others may be spared similar challenges in their legal proceedings. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I have every conversation recorded including emails. I'm not just some bitter person looking for revenge. I waited a year and moving to post this review in fear there would be retaliation. If you are from livingston county than you know exactly what I'm saying.
