I spoke with Dakota today and he was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding a property line/fence issue.

I would strongly encourage anyone interested in hiring this firm to look elsewhere. The final cost for their services was over twice the estimate, I did 9/10ths of my own advocacy throughout my case, Rick Linnell showed up significantly late to the ONE in-person meeting we had with the other side…where he encouraged me to take the deal offered, and be done with it…even when that deal included no financial compensation from the other sure. The firm’s billing department then, shortly after, threatened to send me to collections if I didn’t start paying more than I had been…and when I IGNORED Rick’s advice, and instead pushed for a better deal, independent of him…I was able to negotiate a deal with the City of Port Huron that DID get me compensation. Enough to pay my legal fees in full…and then I had to follow up with the firm, on whether they got it, and for a receipt. If I’d taken Rick’s advice, I’d be in collections now. Worse, when I shared my frustrations with him via email, he just defended his actions to the hilt. Lying about how we got here. He’s not trustworthy. He’s not honest. He’s not punctual. …and he’s a terrible attorney. Hiring Rick Linnell has been the worst mistake of my adult life, and it cost me nearly $12,000…to have his staff file paperwork, and to have him give me poor consul..to then threaten to send me to collections, to pay off a debt he did nothing to remedy. To top it ALL off…he’s upset with ME… When, by ignoring his advice, I’M the one that got him aid through the suit. Not him. IF you hire him, against my advice…do yourself a favor, and plan for the worst possible outcome.

I was referred to Linnell & Associates as they were highly recommended in negotiating short sales. The firm was not able to successfully negotiate our short sale and recommended to " walk away" when things got tough. I never truly felt the firm was in our corner. They were extremely confident in the beginning, stating they have negotiated thousands of short sales and could handle this " simple" short sale matter. To be frank they over promised and under delivered.

I reached out to Rick regarding issues with a commercial tenant's interpretation of a lease. Rick was quick to notice several key points in the lease that were helpful in arriving at a satisfactory resolution with the tenant. I will definitely be contacting Rick with future real estate issues.
