Denis represented me both in a divorce and misdemeanor case. He was professional, understanding and had the respect of the judge and prosecutors. I had the best possible outcome and he helped me get my life back in order. Having no prior legal experience, I met with several other unscrupulous or unqualified attorneys, but found that Denis has the reputation and backs it up. Afterward, he even referred me to a great Trust Attorney to ensure my kids were protected if I were gone.

I was involved in an injury accident. I had been drinking. The prosecutor charged me with a felony and was not willing to deal with any lesser pleas. Denis spent 100's of hours getting ready for the trial and could not have handled things better. The jury came back with not guilty. I hope I never need another lawyer but if I do I will go straight to Denis. I recommend that if you need a lawyer that you should hire Denis as he is a real professional and a stand up guy. He and his staff helped me get through a very stressful and frightening time.

Attorney McCarthy was knowledgeable, kind and supportive through the filing and finalizing of my divorce. I hired Denis McCarthy to represent me in my divorce after reading reviews on the internet. This the was worst decision I have ever made. He gave very little, if any advice during my divorce proceedings. He pushed to have me and my ex wife go into mediation, where I don't think he ever opened his mouth. He spent more time counting how many judges were in a photo on the wall instead of paying attention to what was being said. he even at one point got up from his seat to retrieve the picture for inspection. On the Friday evening prior to my Monday morning court date he sent me an email that stated he could no longer represent me. Then he showed up to court on Monday and tried to get the judge to let him out of being counsel. This attorney is a real piece of work. He cost me thousands and I would not recommend him to anyone. I will be filing a document with the Michigan State Bar about his actions. I would highly recommend not getting involved with this individual. I also thought it was pretty pathetic how another attorney from his office contacted me to defend his actions after I emailed him to inform him I was filing with the State Bar. He stated how boring that the mediations can become. I feel that if you find your profession boring, you should find another job and costing your clients money for unacceptable behavior.

Denis McCarthy handled a personal injury case for me that originated in Aug. 2015. My case was finally settled in Aug. 2017. I had never filed a law suit before and Denis, his paralegal Deborah and the rest of the staff at Kohl, Harris were a pleasure to deal with. I found myself in quite a predicament back in Jan 25, 2011. I was introduced to Attorney McCarthy by my brother in law who knew i needed a great attorney. He took me to meet Attorney McCarthy and he listened. I explained to him that i was involved in a political smear and was being was being accused of embezzlement from 5 years prior. In the legal world, a great attorney is a must and Denis has that and more. My husband was falsely accused of a serious crime.
