Raymond Purdy was a God send in a very traumatic time for me. This was my first offense of any kind and I had no idea what to expect and Ray was a calming, secure presence to have by my side. He truly showed care for me as an individual and reassured me consistently that things were going to be ok. He was such a blessing to me. He knew exactly what he was doing to make sure I was represented to the best of his ability and I was able to place complete trust in him. I would recommend Ray to anyone in my position. He is excellent at his job.

My Dad found him online while looking for someone to represent me going to court. I needed someone who was very experienced and had a great deal of knowledge regarding misdemeanors. Without his expertise there would have been a very high probability I would have had 6 months probation. He negotiated it to be reduced to a civil infraction. Mr. Purdy did an amazing job on my case. I am from Illinois and was charged with my second MIP in Michigan resulting in a misdemeanor charge. Mr. Purdy worked with the prosecutor to change the misdemeanor charge to a non-reporting civil infraction with no probation. If it was not for Mr. Purdy, I would have had a misdemeanor charge on my record and my license would have been revoked by Illinois. I spoke to multiple attorneys before hiring Mr. Purdy who all told me their initial fees were 5x’s as much and that I would have to be processed and arraigned to even start to deal with the issue. Mr. Purdy was able to communicate with the courts to resolve the case and prevent unnecessary litigation, expenses, and damage to my record.

Not worth it. I first spoke with him about a third DUI offense and like usual I was quickly asked to pay a significant retainer up front. There were significant factors that would’ve affected my case in a positive direction for me which his office failed to utilize. His secretary loved to try and scare and talk about all the maximum potential penalties and going to prison for life and how things were going downhill as far as my case was concerned. I ended up firing them and retaining a new lawyer out of Holland who actually took the time to listen and utilize some of the information I supplied him with which ended up greatly benefiting me and I ended up serving 38 days in the county as a result. I paid the new lawyer less than what I had to pay Mr. Purdy’s office for the little work that they did to begin with. I think Mr. Purdy is close to retirement and not looking to do a whole lot and he has his secretary scaring clients with worst case scenario so that they end up looking good if it turns out any better. My advice is to talk to others that have gone through a similar situation and get a good referral because there are plenty of lazy people out there that will grab your money and do very little.

I contacted Mr. Purdy during the beginning of my sophomore year, and his service made all the difference in my case. I was quite anxious and he helped make me feel very comfortable with the entire process. In addition, he explained the complicated legal process in simplistic terms so I could understand. I would highly recommend Mr. Purdy to any individual, because he was highly communicative and responsive as well.
