I am very disappointed with the lack of integrity and advocacy to protect my mother, who is now in hospice. Back in May of 2021, I paid my retainer fee, only to wait over 60 days before he finally filed my case. His excuse was his inept paralegal, but it was his responsibility. He never discussed the actual cost of going to trial, nor did he ever meet with my mother or the staff at the facility where she resides. At the first hearing, he never confronted the judge that my mother was able to communicate in her Native language and she needed me to translate for her. He made a lot of empty promises, like getting the hospital records, but never followed thru. He did not wait for me to return from being indisposed but went ahead with a 2nd unnecessary hearing because they had already agreed upon mediation. He allowed the other side to slander me and my brother and never opened his mouth to defend us. He never would return my calls when my mom was recently in the hospital even though I told his new assistant that it was urgent. Nor did he respond to my text messages. When I met with him about these issues, his excuse was that he was "very busy.". It doesn't matter. He was supposed to be my advocate, and he did not return any of my 4 calls, 2 text messages, or voice mail either when I was pleading for help from the hospital. When I finally found another attorney, John claimed that he did not have my files! Not even the copies of the copies that I had made! Thankfully, his secretary Maureen found them after I described them to her. He didn't do a discovery, nor a summary for the upcoming mediation, nor file any petition so that I could have my mother come out of the facility for holidays despite my emailed requests. Overall, I am deeply sorry for wasting so much precious time, time we can never get back, even when our mom was crying for help, and was very isolated and lonely due to the lock downs. John Knappmann did my mother and me a great disservice, and he was disingenuous to the very end.

Hiring Attorney Marke Gilbert was the best Decision I’ve ever made. He is very knowledgeable and will keep you informed. There has been plenty of times I would text him late at night with a question or concern, he would always call me right away. It didn’t matter what time of the day I was reaching out he would always call to put my mind at ease. You won’t find very many attorneys who are like that. I truly feel like he values my time, money spent, and truly cares about my situation.

The best lawyer hands down. Very professional, on time and never a problem with payments or reaching out! I literally just got off the phone with the couts an it was so many people who's lawyers were not ready that didn't have paper work and they had to adjourn there cases for future dates.
