I can’t thank Attorney Nkechi Gillman and her team enough, a battle I started 2018 with some lawyer who couldn’t represent me well, then I met Nkechi on her instagram live, contacted her, she listened to me, took my case and fought tirelessly till we got my swearing oath notice, I have never seen someone who care so much like her, thank you and your team for not abandoning my case. EDIT: I couldn't write in detailed review before because my heart was filled with joy and excitement. immediately I got the USCIS oath ceremony notice. Words cannot be enough to express how much I appreciate and how indebted I am to Attorney Nkechi and the entire Gillman Immigration Law Firm. She was introduced to me after my N-400 denial by a very good friend who was also having immigration challenge. At first I was skeptical because I was already tired of the whole USCIS process coupled with the fact that previous attorney was of no good. But from our first consultation, I felt hope and alive once again. For the first time, I felt heard. It was soothing to have an attorney who believed in me. She immediately set out a timeline and was honest with me about potential challenges along the road. She filed and followed up with my case, even went to the interview with me on-call (Wow). She was very professional and did not give the USCIS officer room to ask any silly questions not related to my immigration story. Long story short, we were sure of approval after the interview, but approval never came almost one year after interview. But attorney Nkechi never backed down, She contacted AILA (African Immigration Lawyers) on my behalf, when that wasn't working, she wrote to my State Senator who also contacted the USCIS, when she saw that USCIS never responded, she suggested we sue USCIS and file a Mandamus. I agreed to that but I did not have any money on me, so I was waiting and hoping to have money by May to file a mandamus. Guess what? Out of no where, last week, Attorney Nkechi wrote me, in her words, she said, " I will handle this piece pro bono and file a mandamus for you. I make this decision because your case is unique and cultural misunderstanding appear to be the reason for denial and confusion. This to me is a grave miscarriage of justice". I could not believe my eyes. Are you serious? She is taking my case (my fight) pro bono? Wow. I was filled with tears of joy and appreciation. Here I am this week after her fierce letter to the USCIS, I have been remembered for my OATH SWEARING IN. I will end by saying this, if you are going through any immigration challenge, look for an attorney who believes in you, who is ready to fight for you, who sees you first as a human and not a cash cow.
