Had a pretty bad experience with this lawyer and he was pretty unprofessional. I had abuse, child neglect, and threats of violence going on in my divorce case, so I had filed for an order of protection against my ex. I checked with my lawyer twice about the date of my hearing for it, and he gave me the wrong date both times which caused me to miss it. Because of this, my case was dropped by default, and my abuser found out where I was living, and started harassing me there, making me feel unsafe in my own home. Rather than informing the courts of the mistake and requesting a new hearing, he told me to just proceed with the divorce as normal. I was so scared I fled from my home and was essentially homeless for a few months. He then continually advised me not to go to a homeless shelter, which left me trapped at a toxic friend's house where my daughter ended up abused more. I was hoping to have primary custody, or even supervision for my ex's time due to the neglect that had gone on, and he treated it like that was no big deal, and when my ex didn't agree, the lawyer didn't really fight for me, and told me to just alter my agreement to give ex more time, until we had exactly what my ex had asked for, and I felt like I had no say at all. The only consolation was he did a bunch of my case for free after misleading me on the court date, but honestly I would've rather had my child and I's safety and peace of mind assured rather than that.

Jim did not provide me with all of my options as his client. I was unaware of a Karon Waiver, I was the primary income earner, and I was never presented the option of having an "expert financial review" or "vocational evaluation" done on my Ex. I spoke to another Attorney who said I should have these two things done, and when I said that is what I wanted, my case was resolved very quickly and signed by the Judge about 3 weeks later. Jim is a very nice man, but I cannot recommend him as a Divorce Attorney.

Jim has always been so upfront about costs and what to expect during our custody case. I truly believe he has the children’s best interest in mind during everything. He is very responsive and walked me through everything. If you want a lawyer who truly cares, Jim is your guy! Can’t say enough good things about him.

I highly recommend Jim Williamson. I have, unfortunately, worked with a handful of family law attorneys and I can honestly say that Jim is the best! He was supportive, honest, and always considerate of my end goal for myself and my family. Stop looking for an attorney, Jim is your guy!

Jim was great I don't know how I would've made it through this difficult time without him. I was falsely accused by my ex-partner of horrible behaviors. Jim defended me and believed me from the beginning. Jim helped me to understand this is a "process, " and it can take time, I just had to be patient. Jim and his assistant Beth put together a solid case that eventually led to 50/50 custody. This was not an easy case the other side was very obstructionist and made me out to seem like a monster. It was challenging to sit by and not lash out, Jim kept me grounded. Jim advised me that the truth would come out and I would be with my children again. He was right, all the lies, false accusations and behaviors that opposing party committed, Jim was able to expose. The best part was Jim was able to keep me focused by making sure we focused on the best interest of my children. By taking the higher road, Jim was able to get me my legal rights as a father. I couldn't imagine having gone through this ordeal without Jim.

James was extremely helpful throughout my entire process, answered all of my questions thoroughly and honestly. Never once did he steer me in the wrong direction. He provided me with all possible scenarios of what could/could not happen with the potential outcome of my case. Any time I had questions whether I felt they were irrelevant or not, he answered them without hesitation. James's wealth of knowledge when it comes to Family & Child Custody is impeccable and I would highly recommend his services to anyone in need.

We had 2 lawyers before we met Jim and I wish we would have found him sooner! He made things happen for us and not because we had a slam dunk case; in fact, the opposite was true. With hard work and perseverance, we finally made head roads in the family justice system, in this case for the father. He knows the system and he knows the judges which helps immensely when you are putting your life and the lives of your children in someone else's hands. Would highly recommend him to anyone who is just starting to navigate the family justice system or to those that have tried and failed with other lawyers like we did. It was well worth it!
