Filing bankruptcy was a hard thing to do and came with a lot of shameful feelings. John made me feel at ease and was very helpful and knowledgeble. I found myself in dire financial straits after losing my job during COVID and trying to get established as a freelancer. When I made the very difficult decision to file bankruptcy, I contacted a couple firms. The first was a very large firm and, honestly, it had the feel of a big-box law firm where I would be just one of many people to the attorneys. I almost went with them, but I decided to go ahead and contact Lamey because of a review I read. The difference was night and day. I spoke to Elaine over the phone, and her level of empathy and compassion, balanced with a direct, no-nonsense approach to my situation and the law, was outstanding. I felt seen and listened to; plus the costs were less than those of the other firm and they were willing to work with me on paying the attorney fees. The support staff was also helpful, knowledgable, and friendly, and I never had to wait for a question to be answered or some detail to be managed. Throughout the whole process, Elaine was available and helpful, and she guided me through the choices I had to make. The whole process only took three months, and today I have a new start on my financial life.
